Description:

This swap is copied (with permission) from the LJ Group Full Moon Swaps. That Group has in their archives some really awesome swaps & Morgaine & I will prob be pulling some inspiration, if not the swaps themselves from there in the coming year. We are going to try & make your swapping experience much more fulfilling with information gleaned from the survey.

Your interpretation for this theme will be individual. For some it will honor the cyclical energy of our community, investing in the success of next year. For others, it will be the perfect opportunity to celebrate and share their ecologically-driven love of recycling, reusing, and repurposing objects. For long-time members of CW, it will serve as an opportunity to regift some of the objects you have accumulated over the past year to new homes. For many, this will be a chance to do some cleaning of your supplies and to send those extra bits and pieces and treasures to someone else who will love them. Or maybe a chance to send out a cool item you've received over the Holidays, but don't have a use for.

The object, whatever your viewpoint, is to assemble a box of gifts for your swap partner. You can regift items you've gotten in the past and not had the opportunity to use, share those things you have too much of, clean out your witchy supplies to give the neglected and overlooked a new and appreciative home. You can buy items, you can make items, or you can share items you already have. The theme is pretty much open season. Regardless of your interpretation of "ReGift, Reuse, and Recycle", the purpose is always to put together a box that you would personally like to receive. Be creative. Put your own energies into the project.

( As this swap's theme specifically encourages regifting, some tact will be required to ensure that nobody's feelings are hurt. I don't expect this to be a problem within this group: tree-huggers appreciate the purpose of recycling and witches often experience the need to find new homes for old tools as crystals and tarot decks especially seem to wander off to new homes that need them without warning. This won't be the last time in our community that gifts are redirected throughout the circle to find the best home possible. Keep that in mind if you see items of your own changing hands again. )

Sound like fun?

Anyone who would like to participate in this swap must respond in the comments section below any special allergen information (if you are allergic to fragrances, etc) or special requests (if you are vegan and don't want leather, feather, or other animal items mailed to you; you don't want herbs or other organic materials mailed to you, etc)

This swap is basically a no-spending swap. (other than shipping) but, this is not a swap to get rid of junk. The package you send should make your partner say: WOW! Nothing dirty, broken, or of obvious poor quality.

This swap IS open to new members of CW, if you have completed and BEEN RATED for 5 type 3 swaps. If you have not fulfilled this requirement, I will ban you & put you on the "naughty" list of members that don't follow instructions & may cause you to be banned from other swaps I host. Just be smart & make sure you can be in this swap.

What size of box, please and do they have to be all witchy related gifts?

cobaltgypsy 12/13/2010 #

What a great swap! I would prefer no mullein, goldenrod, ginger or wool please, due to allergies. Everything else is open - you can check out my profile for more info! I LOVE things going around the circle! :) blessings, Gypsy

@Gofeen ..sender's choice for both. Whatever you want to send. Just make it a package your partner would love to receive.

LOVE this swap - Im def a tree-hugging witchy..

NO lavender, caffeine, msg, black onyx or opals.

sultrypeacock 12/13/2010 #

Right up my alley-- Share the love! :)

I try to avoid artificial scents (especially scented candles which are usually particularly strong and tend to imbue their scent into everything else that shares a package with them!)

What size box? Priority small cube, shoebox, medium? Not requiring Flat Rate boxes will give some options if you send a lot of lightweight stuff, and Flat Rate as an option for the other side of the scale.

oreon 12/14/2010 #

@tbc - sender's choice on box. don't want to limit anyone. Whatever they feel they want to send. Just make it a package you'd LOVE to receive.

No cinnamon for me (potpourri, spice scents, etc.) due to an allergy and I prefer to avoid vanilla scented things due to my SO's migraines. I love the idea of this swap! I'm a collector of "giftables" year-round because I am always doing swaps and I have some things I haven't found a home for yet. This will be perfect!
