About Me

Married, no children. Live in a log home on the river. With two cats and a bird. A yellow-nape Amazon Parrot. I collect Tarot Cards (and books) and copies of the Rubiayat of Omar Khayyam. My hobbies are Blackwork Embroidery, some cross-stitch, reading and writing. I also knit and crochet.

Favorite Music

New Age, Classical, Folk, Classic Rock,Blues.

Favorite Books

Mysteries, especially cosies. Science fiction. Fantasy. Adventure. Some non-fiction, especially to do with Language and Languages. Cross-stitch and Blackwork Embroidery books, of course.

Favorite Movies

Lord of the Rings. Romancing the Stone. Casablanca. Dangerous Moonlight.

Favorite Television

'The Prisoner'. 'The Avengers'. 'Ah! My Goddess'. Anything 'Macross'. 'Countdown With Keith Olbermann'. 'The Rachel Maddow Show'.

Favorite Crafts

Blackwork Embroidery. Cross-stitch. Knitting, crocheting. I'm thinking about learning to sew! I got a sewing machine. It is having problems. I'm having someone look at it - probably early next month. Machine sewing is currently on hold for now ....

Memberships and activities.

I am a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism, which is where I learned about Blackwork Embroidery. Which is a whole lot simpler than people realise. I also brew Mead (Honey wine) and make Cordials. I am also a role-playing gamer (tabletop, not video.)

I was born and raised in London, England, and emigrated to the US in 1970, where I now make my home.

I speak some Italian and read French. International Swappers - please feel free to include a greeting in your native language, with translation - I am always eager to learn!

My favorite colors are Green and Gold. I am deathly allergic to Oranges and Tea, and mildly allergic to some other foods. (Please ask.) I don't like Mint, but I love Ginger. My favorite scent is Lavender. I love chocolate in all shapes and forms, but prefer Dark.
