Hi! Hi! Hi!
Having fun on Swap-bot. I like making cards and have made MANY. I'm having a great time making ATCs -- and exchanging them! It is so very nice to have some friendly incoming mail.
My favorite color is purple. I love hearts, smiles, bears, flowers, butterflies, music, Life Is Good, and sparkle. I love taking photos; much happier behind the camera than in front of it. Newest enjoyment: Zentangle.
I would never ever NEVER EVER flake on a swap!!!! I will contact you if unforeseen circumstances mean that I’ll be delayed in sending a promised item. I photograph/scan all my art before sending it out. If you don’t receive something, please contact me; please allow me the opportunity to make good on the swap. ☺ Let’s keep the lines of communication open.
My first year stats:
100 swaps (220 different partners).
2 angels (THANK YOU kerrydwynn (Postmark ATC) & TerryF (Holocaust Museum Butterfly Project #2))
3.5 flake experiences (there was a post-rating activity that partner didn’t fulfill)
2 non-raters (those make me sadder – that they received something I worked on and didn’t provide comments/feedback)
Here are a few questions from Your Swap-bot Experience (nice swap, nice timing for me to review my Swap-bot experience around my one year anniversary) and my answers:
What do you like to receive? A nicely put together mailing. Something that shows the person cares about his/her creation; cares how it travels through the mails; cares how it presents itself to recipient. Something that feels like my swap partner took time and enjoyed doing. I like to receive a note (can be brief – mine usually are!). It’s especially nice when there is an element that shows person looked at my profile (part of the message, part of the creation, an extra if that works for the sender). And I like to receive rating comments that show the person received what I sent them – looked at it in more than just the most cursory of ways.
Do you always give a little extra? Always give my best. Always try to make the presentation part of the extra. I usually send something extra – unless nothing speaks to me in partner’s profile (it would be useful if we could see a list of swaps partner has participated in; that could let us see what he/she likes to make/receive).
What is your overall experience of Swap-bot? I really enjoy it. It has been a positive experience for the most part. Sure, I’ve been disappointed here and there but I put the experience emphasis on my side of the scale – my enjoyment of the creative process.
What is the best swap you have done so far? I really enjoyed doing BIG Serendipity Background ATCs (although creating a dozen mailings simultaneously wasn’t stress-free!!). I have been enjoying photo scavenger hunts. It’s fun to walk around sending requests to the universe that I’d like to see X, Y, & Z and then finding things I might not have noticed otherwise. I’ve enjoyed swaps like this one that cause one to slow down and think about things (others: 2012 in Alphabet; 100 Things I Love). I’ve enjoyed ones where I’ve tried out a new-to-me technique – e.g., Origami box and surprise!; Wax Paper Resist.
♥ Bears (faves: Winnie the Pooh, Boyd's, and Paddington)
♥ The Beatles
♥ Life Is Good items (L♥VE Jake and Rocket!!)
♥ Hearts ♥
♥ Statue of Liberty (small, classy representations; also, characters dressed as Miss Liberty)
♥ Wizard of Oz
♥ Crafting supplies (e.g., punches, pens, Cricut, embossing folders, pretty paper, Stickles, stickers)
♥ Suns, moons, and stars
♥ Dust bunnies -- hahaha! (have three cats so always have a fresh supply and no need to receive anyone else's dust bunnies)
(I'm a Disney fan; the heading for this section is a quote from "The Little Mermaid." My faves are Ariel, Belle, and Dug ("Up").)
I would prefer to receive items from smoke-free homes. I have a high sensitivity to cigarette smoke.
That's all I can think to say right now.
☺Smiles,
Carla☺

Hey there :) Just curious - what kind of glue / tape did you use to bind the photos to the paper in your door photo book? (I like that it's smooth and non-wrinkly). :)
Carla! Thanks so much for the surprise commemmorative for the 12/12/12 date!! I love surprises in my mailbox at any time, and I really like these commemmorative cancels. I like your treatment on the back of the PC too. I'll be stealing this technique.
I'm laughing at your comment on dust bunnies. My big black cat is called Sam Dustball!
