I am someone who has always had pen pals from a very young age. Receiving "happy mail" is always fun, and it is a joy to spread the cheer as well. I love to try all different types of arts and crafts.
Mailing in the USA - ZIP+4 is important: Here is a link to properly address an item so the USPS "optical character recognition" equipment can read the address:
Swapping: If you believe I am late with a swap, kindly reach out to me to resolve the issue. I try to rate people as soon as I can, so please include the name of the swap (thanks in advance).
Please also reach out to me if there is any postage due.
I mark my swap items "sent" on the date I put them in by building's outgoing mailbox...it may or may not match the date the post office processed the envelope.
Reduce/Reuse/Recycle - I recycle bubble and large envelopes. I also save all the thin plastic packaging from craft supplies.
My hobbies are "collecting art supplies", bookbinding, mini-books, papercrafts, collage, rubber stamping, mixed media art and fine art.
I love to swap handmade cards, zines, ATCs and mail art.
I also journal, art journal, and have pen pals. I am trying to practice with watercolors.
This year I am also new to collecting postcards, especially those with art or destinations on them.
Dogs (especially Shih Tzu's), Birds, Pink Flamingos (ironically), Beach themes, Palm Trees, NYC, David Bowie, Star Trek (all of them), Hello Kitty, matching stationery sets, any holiday stickers (at any time of year), stickers for grown-ups, vellum stickers, "Greetings From" Postcards , motivational cards/ PCs, humorous (nonpolitical) PCs and notecards, Feminist themes, and items handmade by YOU!
Tim Holtz style(sorry, everyone!), Adult coloring books, loose glitter, confetti, Children themes, kid/school stickers, Lisa Frank stickers, Disney, sports , religious , fairies, unicorns, fantasy (dragons, etc.), horror, super heroes, comic book characters, cats (except for Hello Kitty and her friends), circus, rodeo, bullfighting. Kindly avoid sending political items.
I am sensitive to strong scents, so kindly do not send any scented items, or those that may smell of smoke. Please do not send any food or drink items.
Although I love happy mail surprises, I am trying to get organized, so at this time I think the only extras I would really appreciate/use at this time are :
-zines -ATCs / ATC blanks -Anything from my postcard list below - strong mailable handmade envelopes - swap insert sheets (I love all the different designs out there) - large blank notecards with envelopes
If I don't need something, I'm sure I can pass it along to someone else or incorporate it into a journal, collage or mini book. :-)
70s/80s rock, post-punk, new wave: Bowie, Depeche Mode, The Police, The Clash, Joe Jackson, Talking Heads, REM, XTC, New Order, The Smiths, Pink Floyd
British rom-coms (think Hugh Grant and Colin Firth), Bridget Jones Diary, Love Actually, Notting Hill, Simon Pegg movies, especially Shaun of the Dead, Harold and Maude, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Star Trek II: Wrath of Kahn, Star Trek IV, Bad Santa
