I am still listening to the same music I grew up with...oldies but still the best! I am a huge Rod Stewart fan and have seen him up close and personal in concert four times. I also love Journey, Josh Groban, Elton John, Neil Diamond,Stevie Nicks,Keith Urban,Tom Petty, Bob Seger, Bryan Adams, Celine Dion, Tina Turner, Laura Branigan, Abba, and am still an Osmond fan at heart!
Reading is my passion! I adore it and would have my nose stuck in a book all day long if I could! Not only do I enjoy reading the old fashioned way...I also love listening to audio books. My favorite authors are Nora Roberts, J.A.Jance, Stuart Woods,Laura Childs, Mary Higgins Clark, Carol Higgins Clark, Leslie Meier, Debbie Macomber, Stephen King,Kate Collins, Sue Grafton, Janet Evonovich, James Patterson, Christine Feehan, Carolyn Keene,Robyn Carr, Sherryl Woods,Marilyn Ross and much more. Some of my very favorite books are the "cozy" mysteries!
I'm not a huge TV fan but I am loyal to some shows. I have been watching "General Hospital" for over 35 years now! I am a HUGE fan of the show Once Upon a Time and I also enjoy watching Supernatural, Grimm, Parenthood, The Good Wife, The Odd Couple, Designated Survivor,,Gotham,American Housewife, American Housewife, Designated Survivor, The Good Doctor, and Kevin Can Wait. I love the older shows on DVD and have quite a collection of those. My most favorite ones that I enjoy watching over and over are Bewitched, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Murder She Wrote, Charmed, Everybody Loves Raymond, Ghost Whisperer, The King of Queens, Diagnosis Murder, CSI, Friends, Emergency and Dark Shadows.
I love magazines, especially all the ones geared at women. I'm always buying one here and there and my favorites are Woman's Day, Family Circle, Ladies Home Journal, Taste of Home, Good Housekeeping, Redbook, Woman's World, First, People, Oprah, All You, Redbook,Dr. Oz, Soap Opera Digest and alot of the cooking magazines.
I am also a huge Halloween fan! My fascination began when I was just a kid and loved dressing up in costume and going through the neighborhood with my friends "trick or treating." When I grew up and got married, two of my kids were born in October...one on the 17th and another on the 30th...just 27 minutes away from midnight. When they were growing up we always had Halloween themed birthday parties! When my daughter turned 16 we had a "Sweet 16, Halloween" party for her and it was amazing! We decorate our house and yard with everything Halloween and we usually start in mid-August! I love the stickers, the stationery, the decorations, smells, colors and mood of Halloween!

I feel the need to address this in light of having received two recent three's and a few in the past. In fairness, everyone who joins Swap Bot does so because they enjoy swapping and receiving mail. I have been a member for many years, am not a kid, have pen palled for over 40 years and enjoy what I do. I always send quality swaps and 99% of the time I send on time. I am, however, not perfect, naive or a flaker. Sometimes life happens - illness, death, Mother Nature or unexpected emergencies. This has happened to me a few times in the past year and because I was late in getting a swap out I was rated a 3. I always contact my partner that I am going to be late and explain why. You can see by my ratings that I am not irresponsible. However, many people feel if you are not at the mailbox by midnight on the day your swap is to go out, there are no excuses and no explanations. I find this unfair and uncompromising. Unfortunately, when many hosts are checking your profile, they won't notice the 200 hearts and 5's you have...they will zero in on the one 3 you have. Most of them don't bother even reading why. They just ban you from their swap. I find this very insulting. I will never do that to any partner of mine. You will always have a chance with any swap I host and I will work with you if something comes up. If anyone is flaked, I will angel that swap. Let's all just practice a little kindness in what is supposed to be a fun place and hobby!
