Biggest pet peeve... People who spell my name wrong with it written RIGHT FRIGGIN THERE. Seriously half the mail I have been receiving lately has had it spelled wrong. Not only is the wrong spelling not my name, it's rude.

- 2017:

~ trying to get all 50 states... As of this post, I need - DE, GA, IL, IA, KS, MS, MT, NE, NH, NJ, ND, OK, RI, VT, VA, WV, WI

~ Would love to have all of Rachel Ignotofsky's women scientist cards. Currently have - Horney, Mirzakhani. 2/50 :)

About Me

I live in Nashville with my boyfriend and two cats. I am a nanny. I read, I write. I love hiking.

I collect postcards. In fact, I am trying for 2017 this year, and well, it is slow going.

I am really into the Isle of Man and the end of the Hawaiian monarchy. Send me more!

Cheers & Jeers

Good info for swap purposes...

I hate tea and coffee. If the swap is not specifically for tea or coffee, please do not send me any. (If I am signed up for that type of swap, I am planning to gift whatever I receive to someone else) this includes flavors (ie tea flavored candy)

I don't like most nuts, so it is probably safest to avoid those, too.

I prefer postcards to be written on and stamped. Blank ones make me sad. Unless the swap specifies an exception, at the very least write on them.
I prefer postcards of locations over random stuff (ie Jacob's Field instead of baseball through the years) although I am always happy to get whatever. The weirder the better. I would much rather have the largest bottle of ketchup than the 200th view of ice in Alaska.
Don't know what to write? Teach me how to say hello in another language. Tell me when you were there or why you bought the postcard. Talk to me about your favorite animal or recommend a good book.

I love crafting but current living conditions limit me to cross stitch, basic knitting, and small sewing projects. If for some reason you are sending me craft stuff, cotton fabric, dmc embroidery floss, aluminum split rings for chain mail, glass or wood beads (please no plastic), yarn

Please don't send me random bits of paper, or friendship books and the like that i am supposed to do something with before passing on. They will likely die with me or get tossed. Exceptions for things like articles. I will save completed ATC/ACEO or zines.

Absolutely hate the color yellow.

We're all grownups here. If you have a problem, let me know. Wouldn't you rather the problem get fixed?

Please also note, I check my PO box once a week. If I haven't said I received your stuff, there's a good chance its sitting at the post office. I won't mark you late if that's the case. That said, if I have it, I have checked it in, you don't need to ask me repeatedly if it got here.

Comment: Thank you so much! Both of these books sound very interesting. I'm sorry for the really late rating. I found three items that were put in the to be paid folder. (Sorry, I ran out of money.) Heehee! Hugs, Diane
Response: LOL! I totally understand. I don't even remember what books I talked about.

Response: I am glad you like them. I thought those dotted ones were so cute. Don't know what you do with them, but I hope they work. Sorry it took so long.

Response: So glad you're happy! I wanted to get you other stuff but the comic shop had *nothing* whovian so comics. I like 8 a lot.

Comment: I love Kandinsky! Thanks for the cool card
Response: I am soooooo glad! I was worried when I bought those that nobody I sent them to would like them, but I was also nervous that everyone that did a K swap would get kangaroos, so I took a chance.

Comment: Thanks Mandi, I love the penny from TN. I wish I would have found some of the penny smashing machines when I was down there in Sept.
Response: I have found several new ones this year. It's like they're suddenly en vogue again. The first two rounds I did pennies from The Parthenon and that machine is brand new.

Comment: I love the tape! I actually just used the bursts with a swap I'm sending out (it matched the envelope perfectly). Thank you so much!
Response: Yay! That burst stuff is the weirdest tape. It looks totally different rolled than it does when you use it. :D
Comment: This card must have had quite the adventure, all of the blue writing is smudged from water damage, at least I could make out your name! If only cards could talk, I'd love to know where this one detoured to lol.
Response: Oh no! I'm sure whatever story you come up with will be more interesting than what I wrote anyway.

Comment: Thank you for the adorable leopard postcard! Your zoo making history by breeding the first clouded leopard through AI is exciting! We're planning a trip to the Harpursville zoo this summer to see April, Oliver, and their new baby. It's only about an hour from us. :)
Response: Very cool! Enjoy the trip. I moved a few months ago across town and the best part is that the zoo is just a couple miles down the same road. :)
