I'm a practising artist from sunny South Africa. I've recently quit my permanent job and am "taking a break" from the turmoil of the working world. I au-pair for 2 boys to make ends meet.

I love art and I love art that is "fun"! Too often I find that artist's get bogged down in the deep dark and meaningful and forget their passion for art as a result.

I've been lucky enough to have exhibited in a number of Fine Art exhibitions in and around South Africa.

I love reading, watercolour painting, and ballett... Pina Coladas and long walks on the beach! :)

I own a mouse called Matilda & an ever faithful, very patient boyfriend, Johno!

My favourite colour is tricky... light green, orange, pink, navy & I like neutrals, but I find any colour appealing (I suppose its the artist in me :)

My all time favourite book is The Secret Garden, I love ANYTHING to do with the Flower Fairies (the origional Cecily M Barker ones). I'm a Fantasy buff- I enjoy Terry Pratchet for his quirky humour. I'm also an avid History reader- Phillipa Gregory is a top contender for my favourite!

The series "House" ... Hugh Laurie can be my sugar daddy anyday (the boyfriend has appropriately expressed his disgust at that)! I am guilty of enjoying some home design programmes. I love the National Geographic Channel & Pimp My Ride (I have a thing for old cars).

The Secret Garden (The Warner Bro.s version- 1994-ish), Pride& Predjudice (the looooong mini-series), Girl with the Pearl Earing, Taken & I have a soft spot for the Pixar animated stuff!

For the past couple of years I've been focusing on my Fine Art career- I'm attempting to chill & returning to art as a fun and passionate activity instead of an academic chore.

I love watercolours, ever since I was a little girl, and I've just completed a botanical illustration course in Nov. ATC's hold a special appeal to me... even though I've only done a few!

I looove anything sewing related (my mother taught me how to sew and embroider when I was 6).

I also have an addiction to art on or with paper.

(I have a feeling that I may actually like all crafts!)

Art stuff (brushes, sponges, paint, glitter etc), those teeny matchbox creations, flying birds, anything miniature, retro stuff, dark chocolate, pasta, my boyfriend, buying excessive amounts of treats and toys for my spoilt mouse! , anything victorian or art noveau, historical items & antiques, Classical civilization stuff (Ancient Greeks, Persians,Romans etc), paper cutting, interesting lace, flowers, floral prints, (usually botanically accurate or historical print/fabric etc), Japanese prints, different cultures, All things Flower Fairy (Cecily M Barker), cooking (recipies welcome!), funky antique, antique look alike or bo-ho jewelry, All things Mini(as in the car),monkeys, funky T-shirts (my favourite at the mo. is a green one with "don't annoy the crazy person" on it!)
