Favorite Crafts

My first love is quilting. I still consider myself a beginner but I love learning all I can. I decided to take a quilting class about 5 years ago even though I didn't have a clue how to thread a sewing machine. I have been hooked ever since. I love vintage sewing machines. I especially love piecing on my Singer 66 Lotus Treadle. I love photography too. I love watching Bonnie Hunter's Quiltcam and reading her blog. I love easy quilt patterns, especially for wall hangings or table runners, small projects. Love quilting fabric.

About Me

I am a Christian.I love to laugh! I like many different types of humour ( yes I did type a "u" in humour. I am a Canadian, living in Virginia.) There's nothing like a good pun. I love family and friends, colour, flowers, quilting, reading, learning and experiencing new people, things and places. I'd love to travel.I love the beach. I love thrift store shopping. I am learning to grow orchids. I love variegated african violets. I love turquoise, Purple and other happy colours.I love snow, snowmen and angels.

Well, I was raised on Country music but I love all sorts of music... Christian Contemporary, Billy Joel, Elvis, Beatles, Eric Clapton, The Eagles, Norah Jones, Walk Off The Earth, Van Morrison, Donny Osmond,

Favorite Books

So many books, so little time. I just finished reading the Left Behind series. I like Karen Kingsbury, Nora Roberts, Fern Michaels, Francine Rivers, Janette Oke.

I like historical romances, autobiographies, but only of certain people. I like stories set in the Old West, Amish stories, and stories set in Alaska.

Would love recommendations of great authors to read.

Favorite Television

I really enjoyed Kyle XY, Burn Notice, Life Below Zero, Alaska, The Last Frontier, Alaska State Troopers, Yukon Men, Judging Amy, Monk is interesting too. I enjoy watching old MAS*H reruns.

I watch HTGTV a lot,House Hunters, Love it or List It and other home decor/reno. shows.

What I don't like....

I am terrified of snakes!!! Don't like grits, fig newtons anything vampire, skulls, evil. I am gluten free. Hate football.

I wish I could quilt!!! I tried but I'm horrible at it. I mean extremely bad. I'm going to give it another shot as I just dusted off my sewing machine again. I'll check out Bonnie Huntet's quiltcam and her blog maybe that will shed some light and give me some tips. Happy swapping!
