Hi, I'm Jen and I have been swapping on SB since Sept 2007. I just ever so recently became a SAHM to my three wee ones. In real life, I was/am an appraiser/assessor and I loved what I did, but I hated my supervisor. He was a very unpleasant person at times and very vidictive. Let's just say working for mean people really does something to a person on the inside, so I'm not ready to work out of the home any time soon. Now, don't get me wrong, if the right job comes along, I'm on board, because I love to work. Weirdo, I know.
I'm one of those smart people who is disorganized to say the least, in fact, I'm hard pressed on most days to organize a thought beyond, "Uh, what was I doing?" But, on the flip side of that, proffessionally, I was really good. That twitch, aw that's just nothing, really, residual effects from working for a twit, I think.
I'm married to a nut. Oh now, he's a sweetie and we are an odd couple. Folks tend to think he's a cradle robber and that there must be something wrong with me since I'm always with him. Must be that twitch again. We've known each other since the 10th grade. We dated, then went on with our lives and somehow, he hunted me down after some adventures in life settled him down some. He was still a little wild, but training is coming along nicely.
The wee ones are the best. The 10 is killing me with staying in trouble and I have no idea what fuels him, but he really is a good one, my sunshine. The 4, it must be his life's work to make me grey and in need of taking up residence in an insane assylum, hence my moonshine. Then, of course, there is the weeist of wee ones, and she is a jewel, she's my soulshine.
Swapping has always been for fun for. I like to share a little part if me with anyone and everyone. I think that is our world today, we spend too much time working and fighting and trying to make everyone conform to some idiotic mold that we forget the things in life that really matter. My proffession has taken me to the homes of all walks of life. I've been in the biggest and most elaborate homes and some of the humblest of shacks. I'm somewhere in the middle and could care less where you are on that scale. To me, who you are is who you choose to be.
We are so caught up in the stuff that clutters our minds and our homes that we forget about the simple stuff, and to be honest, it really is the simple stuff that sings to our souls.
I hope that when you receive from me, it will be a moment that makes you feel good inside, even when I just send the simplest of swaps. Because, it should be the little things that make us happy.
I love the Gilmore Girls and As Time Goes By. I really like the British comedies, they just crack me up. I like most styles off music to some degree, but I still can't get into rap. Oh well!!! Practical Magic, Hope Floats, Harry Potter, The Transporter, La Femme Nakita, Snatch, Arthur and the Invisibles, .....
I love food and trying different things. I love dark chocolate and tea. Candied ginger is quite delightful.
Hmmm...I love blues, and browns, and pinks, and oranges.
I love boxes and have been collecting them from where ever anyone sends them, since I was a little child. I like teeny tiny things and owls. I collect the vintage elves/gnomes, mostly from Japan.
I love Fall.
VW bugs, I have two miniatures, but I used to have a real one.
I collect and use bento boxes for lunch and on the weekends for on-the go snacks.
I love Christmas and Halloween and things related to both holidays.
I like Blue Sky Clayworks stuff.
I think mushrooms are great, and I am a tree-hugger.
I love nature and I love to catch it on film whenever I can.
Organic things, nature, my Shaman animal is an owl, I do like fun things, art and architecture, and so and so on and shoobie doobie do....
I am currently reading Handmade Home by Amanda Blake Soule and Weekend Sewing by Heather Ross. I sew and love fabric and bits and bobbins and such.

Sewing, embroidery, cook, bake, I just started making matchboxes, but I do not scrapbook.. I can do anything that I really want to do; however, that does not mean I am good at it. I know a little knitting and have comletely forgotten what little crochet that I used to know.
I've participated in the debate about hearts for two years now and I feel compelled to put something right out here for anyone who questions my view on hearts. You can also scour the forums and find my POV.
Hearts are for swaps that knock your socks off, make a bad day great, turn my frown upside down, for making me happy again, six months down the road when I run across a swap item while I am cleaning, for making me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
They are not for "extras" that have nothing to do with me or my profile, they are not for a bunch of stuff packed in a box just because it was laying around, hearts are not for half a dozen stickers that I don't understand (award).
Hearts are awarded for your best effort, whether it is your very first handmade item, or just an honest attempt at navigating swapping.
I've sent great swaps to partners who didn't award a heart to me because I didn't give them one in a swap they sent me that barely met the requirements.
I love swapping and I love giving my best effort and I love receiving swaps of the like. I award hearts based on the swap, not the extra "stuff."
10/10/2009 I am thankful for my beautiful children, my husband, my family, the sunshine, rain, Fall, hot tea, dark chocolate, comfy sweaters, a warm bed, my house (money pit that it is, but I have one), being a SAHM, good friends, intellectual conversations, laid back conversations, the smell of baby heads, my freedom, my dog/cat, fresh fruit, life.
I'm not going to wig out if a swap is late, unless, of course you completely avoid contacting me at all. Life happens, little and big things.
Swapping since 09/2007

Jen: I have known for years that there are many wonderful people in this world, and a lot of them are right here on Swap-bot. Your kind and generous offer to join a group of special angels --- helping me to make and send a total of 210 handmade ornaments for those who were flaked on in the MEGA Christmas 2009 Ornament Swap --- is VERY much appreciated. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. If I can ever do anything to help you out in return, please let me know. (“;) Hugs, Terry
