Favorite Crafts

I love to sew and would like to swap projects that involve sewing like mini quilts, themed projects. I'm very interested in making pin cushions and fabric postcards. I love to watch Quilting Arts and Sewing with Nancy. I dabble in painting fabric and sketching women's faces. I also love baking gourmet desserts and am fascinated with cupcakes at the moment. Right now, I'm trying to learn different sewing crafts, so I'm joining swaps that expand my sewing education. I'm also making lap quilts for my local Cancer Foundation.

About Me

I'm an administrator in the insurance division of a large school district. I'm married and between my husband and myself, we have four adult children and four grandchildren. I like art and crafts of all kinds. Chocolate is my favorite food. I have allergies to strong smells, so things with potpouri are really not for me.

Favorite Music

Since I am originally from New Orleans, I am a Blues addict. I like Jazz and Country but get really bored with them sometimes. I particularily hate the talk, talk, talk dj's.

Favorite Books

I love detective mysteries with strong women as the main character. Since my ride into work is one hour each way, I am really into audio books. I get to do about one a week.

The Big Bang Theory, Ace of Cakes, Quilting Arts,Raising the Bar, Discovery Channel, Ice Road Truckers, Deadliest Catch, Design Star, American Idol, America's Got Talent, So you Think You Can Dance

Favorite Movies

Chick Flicks and end of world movies. Day After Tomorrow, War of Worlds, Sahara, The Librarian Series.

Favorite Colors

My favorite colors are black with white. I love deep colors and really don't like bright neon colors. I like black mixed with colors, browns and beiges. I also love aqua and blues and greens.

Deep reds are great, but I really hate bright pink. I try to like bright pink, but just can't do it. I stand in front of the pinks at the store and can't bring myself to buy any. So I pretty much like most colors except neons and bright pink.

Comment: What a beautiful postcard! I especially enjoy the flowers and butterfly and your quilting! I imagine that the quilting is the erratic flight pattern of the butterfly :) I would love a little Florida beach time; hope it isn't yet too hot to enjoy the weather!

Response: thank you for the great rating. I had a plastic ring used for attaching purse handles to purses and traced it on the back side of the interfacing that I had ironed onto the fabric. It was a challenge as I had no idea how I was going to make the rings.
