About Me

I am very proud of my 5 rating. I NEVER flake. If you do not receive from me I am glad to re-send. All you need to do is send a me a PM and I will get a re-send out by the next day.

I live in a small town in Texas that has one blinking yellow light and a few stop signs. I have a fur child, Peaches. I taught public school for 33 years: home economics. I retired in 2014.

I like to crochet . I have made over 50 pet mats for a local animal adoption center. And I have also made hats for chemo patients and cocoons for preemies.

Favorite Music

The only time I really listen to music is when I Òm in the car. And then, the radio station is set on country music or I may listen to cds. Most of those are either country or polka/waltz music from local bands. Polka music is ˜happy music for happy people!"

Favorite Books

I like to read, mainly fiction. I have a small collection of books about pets! When I get one of those, they stay with me. When I finish with other books, I either donate or give to someone else. I also like reading personal stories from World War II.

Favorite Movies

I don't watch a lot of movies. Even growing up, we never went to the movies. Living out in the country didn't lend itself to being able to go to the movies. Now, if I go to movies, it will be for a romantic comedy. I don't care for horror movies or sci fi.

Favorite Television

My guilty pleasure is watching reality shows, such as Big Brother, Bachelor and Bachelorette, Survivor and Amazing Race. I always wanted to be a contestant on the Amazing Race (before they started doing those really difficult roadblocks and challenges!). I also like to watch Jeopardy and get really excited when I can know the question, especially the final question! Other favorite shows include House Hunters, Tiny House Nation, Texas Flip & Move and Flip or Flop, The Big Bang Theory and Two Broke Girls

. Favorite Crafts

I love to crochet. I have made pet mats for local animal shelters, cocoons for preemies and chemo hats for cancer patients. I also make scarves, dishcloths, just about anything that isn't too difficult. Let me crochet and watch television and I am a happy camper!

I used to make a lot of beaded items: jewelry, Christmas ornaments, etc. But I haven't been doing a lot of that lately.

I have always had a fondness for paper crafting. Anything to do with paper makes me smile. Scrapbooking, journals, now pocket letters and trying ATCs - any of that makes me happy!

I also sew. I have been sewing since I was nine years old - that was a looooong time ago. I also taught sewing when I was teaching and that was my favorite part of the year.

I will try just about any craft. People would always ask me, "Why are you making that?" My answer would be, "To see if I can!"

I don't have a lot of dislikes and am pretty easy to please. That being said... if you would like receiving what you are sending me, than I will most likely be happy to receive it.
The only holiday that I am not fond of is Halloween. I don't like the ghoulish, creepy, etc. things that are associated with Halloween (including skulls and crossbones). If I participate in a swap dealing with Halloween, I would prefer the cute, smiley ghosts, bats, cats, etc. I can send the 'creepy' kind but I prefer to receive the 'cutesy' kind!

PLEASE...No Thank You

I am listing several items that I do not care to receive in swaps (unless the swap calls for it). I either have too much of these items or no use for them. Thanks for understanding! * NO magazine cutouts * NO sticker flakes * NO alphabet stickers * NO reward/school type stickers * NO leftover paper scraps * NO notecards * NO sticky notes * NO note pads or loose memo sheets

Items listed in no particular order... * Gnome washi tape * Unused US Forever postage stamps * Embossing folders * Dies (new or gently used) * Vintage playing cards * Vintaqe ephemera to use in junk journals * Return address labels * Project Life cards

Comment: Hi Renee! This journal is just so pretty. First, the cover is amazing! Most maps have SO much blue for all the water but you managed to find a map with autumn colors! I love it. Then, all the pretty papers on the inside with pockets, tuck spots, and I'm crazy for the vintage papers, too. I'm so glad there's a lot of room for journaling. Those are my favorite kinds of journals, where I can add some of 'me' to the pages. That little double-flower hanger is so cute! Thanks so much for a wonderful journal; I'll enjoy using it during this autumn season!
Comment: Renee: I wish I could give you a 10 for this! It is just amazing. I love the Grand Canyon cover that you used and the variety and assortment of papers you included is incredible. I especially love all the vintage pages and papers included. And those cute little felt flowers in the center - I love them and what a perfect touch. Thank you so much - this is really very special.
Comment: You made great pouches and thanks for all the wonderful goodies - you clearly checked my profile and sent perfect items! All the Paris washi and intricate die cuts plus the fun flash card and library card! Thanks for a terrific swap in your delightful envelope!
Comment: Please accept my apologies for this rating being so late! Cute card though, its drawn by a child and I love the blues!

Comment: 1. The ENVELOPE!!! Gorgeous, fantastic pattern. The CONTENTS? Love it all! Thanks for a cheerful surprise on a "high pain" day. Hope we're partners again. If your envelope pattern was available as wrapping paper, I'd buy it. Got me looking at washi tape in a whole new way.β€πŸ’œπŸ’™πŸ’šπŸ’›
Response: Glad you liked everything. I got the idea for the envie from another swapper and thought it would be a good way to use up my 'hoard' of washi! Thanks for the heart.
