I'm a 20something currently residing in the Boston area. I love travel, new people, dancing and nightclubs, getting up to no good, English literature, body modification, and knitting amongst other things. And the noble platypus.
I'm generally interested in just about anything I can make with my hands. Things I love to do/make include:
Cooking / Baking
+ Omnivore that will make anything once.
+ Attempting to learn more vegan recipes.
+ I have perhaps an unhealthy love of pumpkins, sweet potatoes, and butternut squash.
+ Natural blend yarns are my favorite...a good wool/cashmere will always get me. Cotton is ok, as long as it's not too thin. No sock yarns please! + I love black or strong colored yarns, nothing earth toned or pastel.
+ I am forever losing yarn needles.
With a degree in film and a background as a video editor, I keep up with the film industry. I err on the side of horror with a dash of science fiction, but definitely appreciate just about anything that is well acted/directed/written. Favorite directors include George Romero, Jean-Luc Godard, Robert Rodriguez, and Stanley Kubrick.
Fiction-wise I love English literature...Graham Greene, George Orwell, and Anthony Burgess are favorites. I also have a soft spot for young adult literature, as well as well-written science fiction (dear Phillip K Dick...let's be friends).
I really like graphic novels and the works of Edward Gorey.
Most of my non-fiction is knitting or other crafting books.
My musical tastes are varied, but a few favorite bands include Orbital, Flogging Molly, Harvey Danger, Arcade Fire, Natalie Merchant, Screeching Weasel, the Dandy Warhols, and Nine Inch Nails. This is not particularly helpful.
I love Law & Order. A lot. Any version. Both versions of the Office I enjoyed, as well as Skins, Peep Show, Firefly, Doctor Who, and Daria. I don't watch much reality TV at all. Ever.
Craft supplies, see above.
Postcards and cards in envelopes - I really like art cards and coffee themed cards. Horror, zombie, and sci-fi things.
Bold geometric designs, especially spirals and labyrinths.
Metal (minus gold colored).
Bold colors and black.
Rings and earrings.
Tea, coffee, and boozy things. Spicy and fruit scents.
Travel supplies and miniatures.
Trinkety things meant to sit about.
Political or religious goods.
Floral things. Fairys & angels.
