I like to read, art and craft, and homeschool my four children. (Well, now it's only 2--two have graduated, one is in college, one a mechanical engineer.)
I started swapping several years ago, as an original member, before there were "hearts and stars." Even though I don't swap year round, it's always a fun time when I get the chance!
I always, always, always send. If it looks like I maybe forgot to rate you, I won't be offended if you remind me!
:)
classical, bluegrass, Pink Floyd, all that 80's alternative--I like to be able to understand the lyrics as they're sung--Third Day, Jars of Clay, Neon Horse, Avett Brothers, Arcade Fire, The Wedding . . .
(in no particular order) old musicals, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Galaxy Quest, The Princess Bride, Napoleon Dynamite, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (old and new) . . . the old Alastair Sim Scrooge is my absolute all time favorite Christmas movie!
collage/mixed media, painting, drawing, scrapbooking, textile arts, beading, quilting, candle and soap making, needle felting/felting, batik, hand carving stamps
Alice in Wonderland, The Excellent Wife by Martha Peace, Gilead, the Jane Austens, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Mitford series was charming, The Number 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series was excellent . . .
Normal coffees and hot teas are a big yes, dark chocolate, Pop Rocks, Shock Tarts (now they call them "Shockers"). I also love fabric, jewelry (I have pierced ears and wear lots of dangly earrings), soaps, purses/bags with handles, wristlet bags, candles, homemade items, paints, and crayons.
Send me something neat you knitted or crocheted and I'll smile for a month (unless maybe it's one of those toilet paper covers!)
Always looking for a good lip balm--my favorite so far is rosemary peppermint.
Hand carved stamps. :)
Really really REALLY like: the metallic Crayola crayon set they had out a few years ago, the one with all the metallics besides the usual gold, silver, copper.
Pages from not-English books, vintage ephemera, pretty glass beads, vintage crocheted trim, that ribbon with patterns woven into it.
Handmade Christmas ornaments.
See, I like LOTS of stuff!
What do YOU like?? :)
Neon bright colors, anything poorly made, not so much into cartoon character related items, either, except maybe old Mickey Mouse and Scooby Doo.
Please no thank you--fruity or funny flavored coffees or teas, coffee flavored candies, or items (like lip balm) scented with vanilla, blueberry, chocolate, or coffee. Keep these and enjoy them!
I always, always, always send! If it looks as if I may have forgotten to rate you, I will not be offended if you (gently, please!) remind me! :)
