About Me

I'm Elizabeth. I live in England with my husband and 3 little girls. We have chickens in the garden. They're excellent! They are becoming so popular as pets now.

Favorite Books

I love craft magazines, especially knitting. I have an addiction to them.

I like

  • Natural things: leather, wood, shell, wool, horn, bone, stone, slate, cotton, hemp, silver
  • The sea, beach, sand, sand dunes, beach huts, hammocks, deckchairs, balconies overlooking the harbour or even better a huge open window you could sit in,
  • Little shops in back streets selling beady hippy things
  • Cream cakes in the park
  • Picnics with a real basket, plates and glasses, overlooking the river
  • derelict shepherds huts in the mountains
  • the smallest spaces for sleeping in
  • hidey holes
  • ensuite bathrooms
  • thunderstorms in the French Alps

Favorite Crafts

  • Knitting. All sorts, and all sorts of yarns, but particularly natural ones. Fave colours: turquoise teal blues or natural colours.
  • Crochet.

Bag I made for Bluecornflower

Bag made for @Bluecornflower

Blanket so far!

My girls, 3, 5 and 6, made these. We glued magnets onto the back.

I'd love to get

  • Dishcloth cotton (difficult to find here, esp. in colours).

  • Knitting magazines from other countries (not UK!). (I read French quite well).

  • Sheepy things.
  • semi-precious stones,esp. turquoise, rose quartz.
  • project bags.
  • Rustic and natural things.
  • Crafty things made from leather.

  • I love Native American things. Beaded, leather, turquoise, deerskin, etc etc.

Please don't send

  • Perfume
  • Make-up
  • Hubby is allergic to perfumes so please no scented stuff, eg. candles, room scents, although natural oils are good.

An occasional flavoured teabag would be nice, but I don't drink tea normally.

Fave foods and drinks

  • Ginger, cinnamon.
  • Coffee: instant or cafetiere.
  • Mint.
  • Liquorice.

Comment: What an amazing Valentine! I will hang the coppery heart up all year long, and it shall remind me of you. :-) You've sent out awesome Valentines two years in a row; the pressure is on for a clever idea for next year. Better start now! *Thanks for sharing with me, Sheepie.*
Response: Glad you like it, Michele. Have started spinning cobwebs for next year. No, apparently, you really can!!

ellie1200 rated for Knitting Pudding on Dec 16, 2010
Comment: Fantastic!! The pud is wonderful. Luxury? I don't know what that'll mean, but we'll certainly enjoy the "fire pudding." And I was sure curious why a package that should have been Christmas pudding was soft and squishy. Thanks for the yarn too! :o) Your chick yarn will very soon be the brim of a newborn hat for a friend who is having a "surprise" so yellow is perfect. I don't know why it's not letting me give you a heart, but you deserve one and I'll certainly try to remember to come back and try again to give it to you!
Response: I'm glad it arrived in good time. I hope it's wonderful and that your Christmas is wonderful too.

Comment: Wonderful! Magnificent! Not only did you get me something fantastic, but you did some of my Christmas shopping for me too! I'd marked those candy cane bath salts as favorites to remind myself to get them for my sister's stocking. I've bought from this seller before and have been really happy! Can't wait for a quiet moment to try out those fizzies!!!!
Response: Glad you are happy with it, Ellen. It was fun to shop for you as it was something different for me.
somethingblue rated for Inspirational Cussword Banner on Aug 9, 2010
Comment: This is a much, much overdo rating for a swap done long ago. The cocksucker banner you made me is wonderful. I can tell you put a lot of time and effort in to it. I am so, so sorry I didn't rate. I was away from Swapbot for a long time. But your banner is magnificent, and it's hanging in my living room...except for when my grandmothers come over, and then I take it down. Thank you, and again, sorry it literally took me over a year to rate you.
Response: A pleasant surprise to see this rating! I'm happy that you like it. Thankyou for your rating and heart. I think you'll find things have changed around here a little. Have fun!

Comment: Elizabeth, your children are so lovely! Seriously, "cute" or "pretty" doesn't even describe them. They have such wide, curious eyes and it makes me want to fly over there and grab them up for a hug, LoL. I also love the yarn that you spun for your mother and what she did with it... what greater gift could you give her (and her give you in return)?
Response: Thanks, Shawnna! We have some fab children, you and me both!
Comment: Elizabeth! What a neat idea, glow in the dark as green!!! That rocks, a great idea indeed! I love all the skull beads and I can't wait to use them. The extra coppery one is highly detailed and gorgeous! I can't say thanks enough!
Response: I'm glad you like!
