About Me

I'm Elizabeth. I live in England with my husband and 3 little girls. We have tropical fish but my real love is rabbits.

I'd like to point out something that might be useful for lots of people with an Amazon wishlist...look for the same things on Ebay. I got the same book for 7 UK pounds that was listed on Amazon at 30 pounds.

Favorite Books

I don't read much, apart from magazines, but occasionally I like to read true stories about autistic children as our 4 year old daughter is autistic. Magazines I like: KNITTING! I'd love to get these from other countries. Any craft magazine.

Favorite Movies

Romantic comedies and thrillers. Fave all time: Cocktail

I like

  • Natural things: leather, wood, shell, wool, horn, bone, stone, slate, cotton, hemp, silver
  • The sea, beach, sand, sand dunes, beach huts, hammocks, deckchairs, balconies overlooking the harbour or even better a huge open window you could sit in,
  • Little shops in back streets selling beady hippy things
  • Cream cakes in the park
  • Picnics with a real basket, plates and glasses, overlooking the river
  • derelict shepherds huts in the mountains
  • the smallest spaces for sleeping in
  • hidey holes
  • ensuite bathrooms
  • thunderstorms in the French Alps

Favorite Crafts

  • Knitting. All sorts, and all sorts of yarns, but particularly natural ones. Fave colours: turquoise teal blues or natural colours.
  • Crochet. Bag I made for Bluecornflower Bag made for @Bluecornflower
  • Spinning: I have recently got a wheel. I have started a project made from natural undyed fleece. I'm crocheting squares to make into a wearable Afghan for campfire situations. If you have any fleece I could have, just enough to spin to make a 7" square, I'd love to receive it. It should be undyed, and can be washed or unwashed. Even better if you know the animal it came from and it doesn't have to be a sheep, although of course sheep are fine. I now have dog, cat and alpaca to add to my blanket. Any more contributions gratefully received, and I will send pix!
    Blanket so far!
  • I have also tried dyeing and want to do more.
  • Sewing: I like little projects, like the ones I can do on Swap-Bot. I love to get a FQ and find co-ordinating threads, beads, buttons etc and keep them all together in a bag until I think of something to do with them. They're lovely just to look at.

In a former life, (before children) I used to sew all the time and I made some fantastic stuff, including ballgowns and bridesmaids dresses. Now a sewn ATC is about the right size for a project!

*I love to make ATCs. Mine are fabric, felt, embroidered or beaded, or all of those. If you do anything a bit different from the paper collage type and would like to swap, please PM me!

Penguins!
My girls, 3, 5 and 6, made these. We glued magnets onto the back.

I'd love to get

  • Dishcloth cotton (difficult to find here, esp. in colours).
  • Fat quarters;
  • batiks;
  • primitive stitching;
  • For fabrics I like bold prints; stripes; batiks; tie-dye; retro; brights and pastels; turquoise, pink, purple, dark green, blue.
  • I could also use some gingham type fabrics/plaid for my primitive stitching. The antique/homespun looking stuff.
  • DMCs in brights and effects.
  • Metallic threads.
  • Shiny stuff.
  • Ribbons.
  • Knitting magazines from other countries (not UK!). (I read French quite well).
  • Sheepy things.
  • buttons.
  • beads.
  • semi-precious stones,esp. turquoise, rose quartz.
  • project bags.
  • Rustic and natural things.
  • Crafty things made from leather.
  • Denim.
  • 5" cotton charms.

  • I love Native American things. Beaded, leather, turquoise, deerskin, etc etc.

Please don't send

  • Perfume
  • Make-up
  • Hubby is allergic to perfumes so please no scented stuff, eg. candles, room scents, although natural oils are good.

I don't drink tea

Fave foods and drinks

  • Chocolate...all kinds.
  • Sweets and candy.
  • Cake of all sorts!.
  • Ginger, cinnamon.
  • Coffee: instant or cafetiere.
  • Mint.
  • Liquorice.

Elizabeth: I have known for years that there are many wonderful people in this world, and a lot of them are right here on Swap-bot. Your kind and generous offer to join a group of special angels --- helping me to make and send a total of 210 handmade ornaments for those who were flaked on in the MEGA Christmas 2009 Ornament Swap --- is VERY much appreciated. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. If I can ever do anything to help you out in return, please let me know. (“;) Hugs, Terry
