Had my third round of chemo about four days ago. Haven't been on in a while because all my energy and strength has been zapped. But I refuse to climb in bed and sleep the day away. Even rolling yarn is a large choir even though I am sitting at my desk. I am no longer going to the stores because walking a long time is so exhausting and I just can not keep up anymore.

The family has been a tremendous help to me by keeping up with the laundry, cooking, and keeping the house cleaned. I would joke with them before chemo and surgery that I would enjoy all that and being waited on, but I feel so bad that I can not even help them with it. I will be making up for it when I get better though and baby them for awhile.

I have dropped from all my groups, with the exception of two of them. Pared down on my swaps. I refuse to be a flaker and I do not have the energy to put into them right now. After the treatments I will get back into my routine and swing and participate more. That is a goal that I am looking forward to it.

Since my second round of chemo I have lost the sensation of taste. Everything tastes like wax and it does not help with my appetite. I try and force myself to eat so that I can take care of myself durning this. But sometimes it gets hard to stomach the food even though I know what it should taste like. So I am still trying. I get alot of hugs and encouragement from the family and that makes me feel so great. They keep telling me that I am a strong woman and will make it through this and that makes me try even harder.

On June 4th it will be my last treatment of two different types of heavy chemo drugs. Then I go to a lighter type chemo. My doctor told me that I will get my taste back, hair will start growning back in and I will feel much better. There will be four treatments of this but that it will take longer to get it into me. So, I will probably be taking longer naps there.

I did get my breast form on the 15th of May and I feel so much better about myself when I am out in public. Now I have two and not just one...lol.... When we were leaving the hospital hubby grabbed it and gave it a squish. He said "Wow Donna!! It feels like the real thing." I showed it to all the family and my hubby asked if I wanted him to paint a nipple on it since it doesn't really have one. Leave it to a man!!

I did have good news about the pictorial book that I have been working on...Dorriance Publishing Company is interested in it and wants to take a look at it. The printer is out of ink and the first of the month I will be working with the family and get some of it done so that I can send them a hard copy. I am planning to move to Texas when I get it done and buying a place down there and settle in for my last place and finally relax and enjoy the rest of my life in peice and quiet. That is my number one goal.

Due to some of the silliness here on the bot and the flaking from the older and newer members I will be doing mainly private swaps. I will contact people who also enjoy doing private swaps. If you are interested just PM me and we will set up a swap. I do mainly all types swaps except destashing, mix CD's and regifting. Yes, I am a religious person even though I do not go to church. I give to my community through various charities, monetary help when I can, food drives and whatever else I can do.

I also need to tell you that I have no teeth and can not eat hard food or anything that will not mush.

COLORS

Colors are the earth tones of blue, reds, greens, yellows, heathers, tweeds, and lighter shades of browns. I also like all the pastel and lighter shades. I do not like the color black, dark brown or muddy type colors

SNACKS AND PASTRIES

The pastries that I like are Hostess snowballs ( none of the other kinds), the raspberry and coconut zingers, Swiss miss rolls, brownies, sugar wafer cookies, oreo cookies, Hostess crumb doughnuts (none of the other brands) and Krispy Crème doughnuts. What a great swap this would be....yummy!!!

CANDY

Candy will have to be m&ms without peanuts, chocolate bars without nuts, resee cups, white chocolate, Rollos, York peppermint patties, mounds, wintergreen life savers, butter rum life savers, caramels, and all types of fudge without nuts. I have just discovered the 3 musketeers mint candy bars...yum!!

SCENTS

I love the scented candles in cinnamon & sugar, butter cookies, butter crème, vanilla, pumpkin pie, and any sweet cooking type smelling ones. I would rather have the votive candles since they burn more evenly and uses up all the wax.

In body sprays I like the cucumber and melon, windsong, and avon honeysuckle.

I do like the coconut smeling bath gels with mosturizers and also cucumber and melon.

CRAFTS I DO

The crafts that I do now are crocheting, quick and easy crafts, ATC's, spoolie angels of all kinds and styles, swap cards, scrapbooking pages of breast cancer and military, card making, cancer items, household items, baby items, decrotive items and so much more.

I love the acrylic crochet hooks - the yarn slides so easily over them and I also like the ergonomically correct crochet hooks. Please do not send any alumminum hooks as they chip easily and snag the yarn.

I love yarn - cotton, wool, bamboo, spa, baby, homespun, baby cloud, jiffy all the new luxury cottons, Vanna Choice yarns of all types, and ribbon. I do not like the fuzzy type and feathery ones.

IT IS A GIRL!!! EDEN DONNA CARR TO APPEAR ON THE 26TH OF SEPTEMBER 2009....

I have been busy making stuff for Eden. I have her a winter blanket and am now working on the homecoming blanket. It is a round jacob ladder that is brown with pink trim. The outfit is a brown dress with white polka dots with a white and pink trim. Comes with a pink sweater and tights and pink booties. After this blanket I have another one to make. Then we will have the hats, scratch mitts, trims around the recieving blankets, burp cloths, washcloths and bibs. I don't know if I am missing anything else but will find out as soon as we take inventory of what we still need to get.

As for buying stuff I still need to get the sling, swing and a tummy mat. Then I can have another five months to get the crib and other stuff for the baby's nursery. So I am lucky there.

My brother has offered to take Audra in and watch over her for me in San Antonio, TX. Even the nurses that are caring for Audra believes that it would be best if the child was born in Texas and not Tennessee since the father is a jerk and harrassing her and has been abusive to her. She just found out that this man had been arrested, tried and found guilty of child sex perversion against a 12 year old boy. He talks about how his conviction was overturned on a technicality and it was expounged from his record. But guilty is guilty to me. I am thankful that my brother and his wife have offered me help with this and Audra is so happy also. It is a blessing to me. I just wish that Eden could be born here so that I could be with her durning labor and delivery. But we can't have everything that we want want in life. But I will be seeing both of them after the chemo treatments are done and that makes it easier for me.
