I am a twenty-something, married woman living in Tampa, Florida. Expecting my first child in March 2010.
I enjoy traveling, reading, writing, ghost stories, cats, the beach, roller coasters, making goofy movies/slideshows, getting stuff in the mail!
I enjoy historical fiction novels, especially those centering around King Henry VIII and his various wives. Any fictional book about London or Medieval/Renaissance Europe is sure to interest me.
I also like horror novels/short stories. I am a huge ghost nerd and love reading about "true" paranormal experiences.
In addition, I like to read autobiographies or real life dramas. For example, books about Mormon or Muslim women who escape their oppressive communities or books about people who have survived horrifying or remarkable experiences.
Shows about ghosts and the paranormal are usually a hit with me. I also have a strange penchant for documentary programs about people with bizarre medical conditions. Discovery Health is great for that. Give me shows about two-headed twins, people turning to stone or trees, and being one's own twin.
Random shows I enjoy include The Office, King of Queens, King of the Hill, Sex and the City, Cheaters, Intervention, Southpark, etc. I always get into shows way later than everyone else (The Office, Sex in the City).
Candles: I love candles! The stronger the scent the better. I really enjoy seasonal candles. For example, pumpkin spice in October or Apple Cinnamon in winter.
Candy: I love sour candy coated in sugar. For example, Sour Skittles, Sour Patch Kids, Sour Gummi worms, the sour strips/straws at candy stores, etc. I also enjoy hot, cinnammon flavored candy such as Hot Tamales and cinnammon bears. Yum! Sour or cinnamon flavored gum and mints is also to my liking.
Drinks: I love hot chocolate and apple cider. There is nothing better than reading a good book with a hot mug of chocolate or cider on a chilly autumn day. I drink lemonade or sweet tea during warm weather.
Postcards: I like to receive goofy, stereotypical postcards from around the world. The more stereotypical the better. If it's Japan, I want to see geishas or sumo wrestlers. If it's Italy, I want to see pasta or the Leaning Tower of Pisa. If it's Georgia I want peaches, and if it's Texas show me a rodeo, a steak, or an oil well. Also, please write something on the card. It doesn't have to be a long, heartfelt message, but blank postcards are lame.
'80s Paraphernelia: I get a kick out of 1980s gear. For example, slap bracelets, jelly shoes and bracelets, big, bright earrings, tacky shirts, Trapper Keepers, anything related to Jem and the Holograms, etc. I also used to adore New Kids on the Block and would love to find old T-shirts, buttons and items of that nature.
Bath and Body: I am crazy about lotions, sprays, body creams, and washes. Especially those from Bath and Body Works, Victoria's Secret, etc. I like almost every scent, except for those that smell musky or like food (with the exception of vanilla). I like Plumeria (B&B), Secret Crush and Turquoise Paradise (VS), although most anything is fine. HOWEVER, no thank you to chocolate, peppermint or strawberry fragrances.
Seasonal: Halloween is my favorite holiday! I love pumpkin scented candles, Halloween themed candle holders, corny decorations, ghost shows and books, horror houses, horror movies, etc. However, I HATE candy corn. Disgusting.
