I am a U.S. Postal Carrier on the Central Coast of California. I've been walking the streets for 20+ years :) I love camping, playing on the beach, gardening, anything related to the great outdoors, reading and listening to music. I have a wonderful husband, two grown girls and one grand daughter, Ava. My Whippet, Qi is the best dog in the world! My husband is a musician (drummer) and we've traveled to Europe and across the USA with various bands. I think Switzerland, Alaska and Hawaii are all heaven on earth.
I love classical turned up really loud on long road trips by myself. Bizet, Liszt, Dvorak. I love funk and jazz while I'm cleaning house and working in my little garden. Tower of Power, Edger Winter, Jaco Pastorius. I love rock and roll all the time. Rush, Yes, Van Halen, David Bowie.
I like mysteries. Alfred Hitchcock, Ellery Queen, Edward D. Hoch. I like science fiction. Gardner Dozois, Isaac Asimov, Robert Heinlein. I like fantasy. Tanith Lee, Roger Zelazny, Marion Zimmer Bradley. I read short stories every day at lunch and novels at bed time.
Don't get to see a lot of movies but favor sci-fi and comedies. Most musicals. A good action flick once in the while. Blade Runner, Star Wars, Close Encounters. When Harry Met Sally, Coming To America, Young Einstein. My Fair Lady, West Side Story, Nightmare Before Christmas. Road Warrior, Die Hard, The Bourne series. We have one of the few drive-ins left in the country and we enjoy it as much as we can.
I don't watch a lot of television being a full time worker and outdoors fan but I'm a sucker for the Discovery Channel and the National Geographic Channel. I like CSI but won't go out of my way to watch it. Love watching cycling (Tour de France, Tour of California!), Men's tennis and what little surfing is out there. The DVR takes care of anything I really want to see.
I'm not the crafty type but I'm good on the sewing machine (thanks Mom) and make things I can't always get my hands on. I make the best martingale collars for my whippet, Qi. She's always sporting the collar of the season.

To make things clear I don't like handmade postcards. I've been burned bad by what people call art. A cut out newspaper comic or a piece of wallpaper is not a postcard to me. I try not to sign up for swaps that allow homemade cards. Please save those cards for people who really want them! Thanks!!
