I'm a 22 year old college student studying Sociology. I'm from central NY originally, but I moved to Western NY for school. I've always thought swaps were really fun, but I never ended up getting good results with any that I was a part of.
My biggest hobby is knitting! I love anything to do with yarn, though, especially wool and other natural fibers. Writing is my second hobby, but it's more of a career path than a hobby, for me. I crochet too. I also love painting, working on altered books, cooking, and baking. I spend a lot of time daydreaming.
I also spend a lot of time working at a craft store, so I can think of basically ten things to do with just about anything in your typical craft store! It's sort of my life!
Bob Dylan is my all-time favorite. I've been a fan since I was in the womb, apparently. Spencer Krug (Wolf Parade, Sunset Rubdown, etc) is my second favorite musician. I like indie-rock, indie-pop, synth-pop (Friendly Fires, Cut Copy, etc), and I have a huge soft spot for bands with British singers (Pulp especially).
My Last.FM username is Hyz, so check that out if you want more information.
Lolita is my favorite. My second favorite is Stick Figure by Lori Gottlieb. It's a great book about a young girl with anorexia. I'm mostly interested in memoirs (Wasted, Madness, Hurry Down Sunshine, etc), especially those about recovery or addiction or psychiatric conditions. I'm also interested in some more literary fiction, but it comes and goes.
And of course, I do love Harry Potter. Watership Down was my childhood favorite.
Gladiator, Remember the Titans, Star Wars, Star Trek (2, 4, 5 especially, hated the new one), Wristcutters, Jeux d'enfants, Sunshine, Goodbye Lenin!, 2:37, Maria Full of Grace, and La faute à Fidel. I love "foreign" movies,
cats, birds (especially owls and cockatiels), yarn, ribbon, socks, nail polish, coffee, loose tea (not green though), dark chocolate, gummy bears, recipes, chapstick, sunflowers, winter, cold, ice, snow, bare trees, black and white polka dots, pearls, brass, argyle, green, mustard yellow, brown, teal, rusty orange, communist and socialist propaganda, charms and pendants, craft supplies in general.
I can always, always use more yarn, more knitting notions, ribbon, buttons, embroidery thread, scraps of cardstock paper, embellishments, paints, book clippings, inspirational items
religious paraphernalia, anything disney-related, anything geared to little kids (cartoons, lisa frank, hello kitty, etc), pink or pale colored things, cutesy stuff, cheap-o acrylic yarn, milk chocolate, stamps, foreign currency.
also, nothing involving cranberries or pumpkin, please, i am allergic to them.
