I'm an anthropology major (linguistics minor) at UNR. I love to read, listen to music, write, and learning new things, especially about language and culture (which is perhaps obvious!). I'm rather opinionated, but I respect other people's opinions, as long as they are reasonably well-informed. I consider myself libertarian (bordering on anarchist) at heart, and I'm a bit too introverted for my own good.
Rock of all kinds. Some bands I like, in random order, are: Bad Company, Cream, The Guess Who, Coldplay, Placebo, Third Eye Blind, Breaking Benjamin, Savage Garden, 3 Colours Red, Panic! At the Disco, Alkaline Trio, The Monkees, Veruca Salt, Go Betty Go, The Beatles, Anberlin, Shinedown, Oleander, Pink Floyd, Queen, Styx, Coheed and Cambria, The Kinks, Blue October, The Chieftains (not rock per se, but they are awesome!), Flogging Molly, Switchfoot, Trapt, A Perfect Circle.... I could go on forever.
I detest pop, rap, and most country (especially the newest stuff, which is pretty much pop with a twang these days).
Lots. I tend to go for comedies, but also love foreign films. I've been getting into Bollywood (Indian cinema) more and more. Again, a random partial listing: any Monty Python (tho Life of Brian and Holy Grail are the best), Young Frankenstein, Rear Window, 10 Things I Hate About You, Ever After, Blazing Saddles, La Vita E Bella (Life is Beautiful), Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, The Road Home (a Chinese film), Schindler's List, Romeo and Juliet (Zefferelli's version), V for Vendetta, etc etc etc....
I don't watch a whole lot of TV (I don't even own a tv), but I do like CSI, MASH, The Simpsons, Flying Circus, Doctor Who, and documentaries (especially science or history documentaries-- though, The History Channel irritates me because it is entirely too war/techno-centric).
I love way too many books to list them all (or even a small fraction of them!). That being said, I tend to go for historical fiction, fantasy, and nonfiction books about language, history, culture, etc.
