NOTE! I send my swaps out early, so if you don't get them, let me know before giving a bad rating! Also, if you feel disappointed in what I sent, let me know here first and I'll send something more to make sure you're satisfied! I can't always keep track of who has rated me or not to make sure things arrive, so I'm afraid I'll just have to wait till you message me to clear things up, but I am happy to work things out ASAP!

I'm a 27 year old who is recovering from Graduate School, where I got an MA in Literature. I'm currently working where I can and when I can as an Adjunct Professor, teaching bored college students how to write essays. My primary scholastic interests are literature and history, and I have a habit of buying more books than I could possibly read. My cat owns my soul, because I cannot resist his cute face. I have a love of dressing up in strange period costumes, but never have anywhere to wear them. I have a weird love of paperwork- filling it out and organizing it. I adore drinking coffee and only find true despair in life when I can't afford to buy myself a good cup of coffee somewhere. My next goal is to see a few of my creative writing pieces published... somewhere.

I tend to incline towards Alternative/Rock music. Favorite bands are Placebo, The Cure, Within Temptation, Nightwish, VAST, Fair to Midland, VNV Nation, The Birthday Massacre and A Perfect Circle. I like classical when I'm in the mood, and my husband has me dabbling in metal. I do not like rap, modern pop music, country or Christian.

I read. A lot. Anything from the classics to fantasy, historical fiction, non-fiction, philosophy... Favorite authors are Oscar Wilde, Neil Gaiman, Jane Austen, Edgar Allan Poe, Nabokov, Tanith Lee, Storm Constantine, Poppy Z. Brite, James Joyce, Vladimir Nabokov, Thomas Mann and Gregory Maguire. I adore the Harry Potter series (total Slytherin junkie), 'Phantom' by Susan Kay, 'Shogun' by James Clavell, and Thomas Mann's 'Death in Venice'. Am also known to completely worship various characters from Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles.

I like action movies, comedies and fantasy movies. Favorites include: 300, Stardust, Velvet Goldmine, Rocky Horror Picture Show, the Harry Potter movies, American Beauty, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

Battlestar Galactica, House, Dexter, BlackAdder, Castle, Bones, Rome, The Tudors, True Blood

I enjoy knitting and crochet, and though I've been knitting for years I can really only make scarves and blankets, and can't manage anything too fancy. I take pleasure in needlework, because I like how tedious it is. Blackwork embroidery brings me joy. Lately I've been taking photos more as well and would love a new and better camera.

If you're in a swap with me and recieve a package or letter from 'Robert', that's me. My father just recieves a lot of those address labels and I 'help' him use them up.

How to get Hearts from me: The fastest way is to include something Slytherin or something with cats. Absolutely will get you hearts every time.

If you think I seem cool and you'd like to get to know me better, I'm always up for a new pen pal. Please, feel free to message me and ask if we can start writing back and forth outside of a swap. If I have time to take on a new pen pal, (which I probably will) we can start writing.

If you send me a letter and there's a return address (that I can read clearly) - you will probably get a reply from me. I love when I get replies in turn and get new pen pals out of it, but mostly I just love mailing stuff!

Colors- Black, silver, violet, burgundy, emerald. Combinations I like are silver/green.

Animals- Lions, cats, dragons, owls, foxes.

Teas- I prefer white or green teas.

If you feel like sending something along for my sweet husband, Ed, I know he'd appreciate it. He very much enjoys Irish music/culture, Viking history, weaponry, D&D dice and gear, and chocolate.

Money is very tight right now, so I've had to restrain myself to swaps that I can send with a stamp or two, and make with materials I already have on hand. Naturally, this is very depressing to me. Unfortunately... there's nothing I can do about it. But, if for some random reason you decide you want to really blow my mind and make my week, some things I would be super excited to recieve in my mail would be:
