howdy!

i'm a crafter, designer, artist, writer, photographer and swap crazy student, wife and educator. i'm finishing up a degree in Human Development with a specialization in Art Eduacation so that eventually, someday, i will be able to complete a masters in library science. i want to be a childrens librarian! i love me some kids books! things that make me happy: *robots *chocolate *decole *trees *houses *birds *mushrooms *fruit *gnomes *cinnamon *old telephones *black pepper *thai iced tea *keys *the color orange *polka-dots *photobooth strips *vintage circus and clown stuff *polaroid film *lobsters *apples *kawaii fun not necessarily hello kitty. though i do love deery lou and chococat.

i have an etsy shop, i'm jekbot and i also run a kid's art blog at blogspot called scrumdillydo!

i'm an oldies kind of gal. everything from last week to last year to last decade and so on. currently on my playlist is of montreal, neko case, the new pornographers, sondre lerche, the amps, patsy cline, eddie dean, nick cave, the magnetic fields, mirah, mary's danish, janet klein, screamin' jay hawkins and of course, doris day.

my most favorite film ever is What a Way to go...i'm fond of the quirky flicks and am currently obsessing over silents and old oldies...

other faves include: buckaroo banzai, grease 2, pee-wee's big adventure, harold and maude, amelie, a room with a view, to kill a mocking bird, napolean dynamite, pillow talk, the apartment, etc.

gilmore girls, wonderfalls, medium, pee-wee's playhouse, laugh in, the carol burnette show...and now of course...chuck, criminal minds, pushing daisies, the practice, journeyman, heroes...

i am enthralled with my gocco but i love to create quirky stuffies, robots, pillows, and gift packages.

i love to sew, patchwork, embroider and bake. Not so into the scrapbooking arts. I love the wee-ness and the creativity of it all but I am too consumed with my sewing to add another craft. I think I have a ribbon addiction and little boxes and house shaped objects make me smile.

i'm smitten with the past regarding styles and colors. my kitchen is red and turquoise/aqua. i adore vintage kitchen stuff and if it has a lobster or chicken on it i'm in love!

my home is being invaded by fabric and books. i collect children's picture books both new and old. i also have a hankering for crafty books. to give you an idea about how i approach my life you should check out my flickr page or just know that the mister and i had a public elopement. we photobooth for fun. we play ukuleles in the early evening and grow our own food. the bedroom is painted a tiffany blue, the living room a sonic lime and our kitchen cabinets are red. there is usually always a yummy homebaked goodie tucked away in the kitchen and we'd rather have root beer floats than beer. laughter is precious to us and so are my roller skates.
