About Me

Well I'm a Mother first and fore most to my boys and learning to be a friend to my daughters as they have a Mother and I just want to be their friend, (Clint & I don't like the word "step" and don't use it with the children) and I'm Clint's best friend, lover and wife!

Oh and I'm also mother to 3 dogs - one female deaf full bloodied Australian Cattle Dog and 2 male puggles. Makes for an interesting combination!

We are very active with Cub Scouts & now Boy Scouts too as our middle son recently crossed over earning his Arrow of Light! we enjoy camping, hiking, archery, shooting and fishing. I love working around the house, re-arranging and improving what I can, and am now learning about container planting since our yard is mostly rocks! - painting = both inside the house and decorative, crafting and being creative, Native American PowPow's, geneology, history and of course the Stone Mountain Highland Games & Scottish Festival - "diggin up history ~ living in a tent" (it's a line from a song) but basically it's learning about my heritage and where I came from . . .

things I like

bumble bees - crosses - nativity scences/sets - othere religious items from other cultures - I'm Episcopalian but now go to a Lutheran church - angels - peacocks - Cub Scout/Boy Scout items - fairies - dragons - embroidery floss - fabric squares in linens, cotton, anything I can put my embroidery designs on! - bath fizzies - candles (cinnamon, clove, vanilla, berry, wine flavored, fruit flavors - but nothing floral - allergies) - americana - country - primitive - native american - celtic - anything scottish - pineapples - cinnamon - clove - red wine - when someone asks my favorite color I usually say "plaid" which my youngest will point out is not really a color but it's better than when I was little and would answer "pinkish gray" ;-) but I do like alot of colors my kitchen is blue, yellow, orange, green and all bright colors from the Pfaltzgraff "Napoli" collection, our bedroom is done in Celtic & Native American items with beige/brown walls with accents of maroon, blue and plaid! - one of my boys rooms is done in camo and the 2 other boys (12 & 9) share a bedroom done in military motif (Air Force & Marines) and my 2 daughters room (14 & 11) is done in yellows, green, orange and blue - actually it's my old bedspread and curtains so it's retro 70's - I love Fluer-de-Lis items due to it being the Scouting symbol - primitive homemade items - inspirational - I like the Catholic prayer candles/cards - not really into bookmarks (they always get lost - one of the children use it or a dog eats it for snack!) envelopes & notes - items for teenage girls (11 & 13 yrs.) - grew up learning about other religions and love unique items about other religions - basically I have a very eclectic style!

Favorite Crafts

love making angels - primitive stitching - creating unique awards/certificates, programs & bulletins - trying to get back into oil painting, love that - decorative painting on various items and murals - cross-stitch - drawing - primitive - woodcrafts - love county crafts - some candle making & love trying new things!

Favorite Books/Authors

Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series - Jan Karon’s “Mitford Series” - I love to read but there really isn’t much time with all the children running around in different directions or should I say all the running around I do with them (which I wouldn't change for a million dollars)! But I love murder, mystery, historical fiction and of course romance - though I'm very picky about those - NOT those harlequin romance types!

Favorite Television

N.C.I.S. - Psych - Monk - Royal Pains - Doing Da Vince - Dirty Jobs - Ruby - Ice Road Truckers - Holmes on Homes - Crossing Jordan - HOUSE - Monk - CSI - Flip this House (the original Charleston, SC version) – Judging Amy - Psych - Inked - Food Network - HGTV

Favorite Movies

Down & Derby - Follow Me Boys - SHREK - Open Season - Braveheart - Rob Roy - The Last of the Mohicans - National Treasure - Iron Man - Indiana Jones movies - Brigadoon - Sahara - Hitch - Air America - ALL the Lethal Weapon movies - The Patriot - The Bone Collector - Walk the Line - Timeline - Narnia - all of the Jurassic Park series - all of the Mummy series - all the Harry Potters - Romancing the Stone & Jewel of the Nile - Sweet Home Alabama - 13 Going on 30 - 50 First Dates - The Wedding Planner - Father Goose - Cheaper by The Dozen – The Parent Trap (old & new verisions) - Father of the Bride (I & II - old & new versions) Yours, Mine & Ours (old & new versions) - Antie Mame - Gigi - Sound of Music - Pillow Talk - Please Don't Eat the Daisies - Aliens & all the others in that group - this is just a very very small dent but gives you a general idea but I will add that I HATE those blood guts & gore movies like Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street and that nonsense

THINGS I DON'T LIKE

anything Honeysuckle - I am soo Allergic to it! - I'm sorry but as of yet I don't understand the ATC's so I can't really say if I like them or not - just don't understand them yet (no offense) - not crazy about caramel unless it's homemade or in snickers bars or turtles - anything with a heavy floral sent - chapstick (we don't get along) - horror movies ie: Friday 13th, Hills Have Eyes that kinda thing - loud screaming music that gives you a headache

Wish List

I'd love a Dotee Doll so that I can see what they are and learn to make them and start sharing! -

anything with bumble bees - anything with peacocks - embroidery floss - fabric squares to do my embroidery on - a Dotee Doll so that I can learn more about them and learn to make them - maps from other countries - signs/posters from other countries military - anything frog related (11 yr old daughter) - anything horse related (14 yr old daughter) - UGA items (size 2x for shirts) - candy from around the world - scouting items from other countries - dragons - fairies - anything handmade and personal - decorated hand towels/dish towels - Pfaltzgraff Napoli items (or items in those colors for my kitchen) - altered flip-flops (womens size 7, 9 or 10 - I have 2 daughters besides myself ;-)

Favorite Candies

peanut M&M's - maple nut chews or anything maple - tootsie roll pops - gummy anything - old fashioned jelly beans - gum drops - anything sour - blue raspberry - mint - black licorie - jelly bellies - fruit snacks - sesame candy - peanut butter - there are 7 of us in this house so if one person doesn't like it there's gonna be another that does! plus I like flavored coffees & teas

I CAN NOT HAVE THINGS THAT HAVE ASPERTAIN (spelling?) OR ARTIFICIAL SWEETNERS IN IT DUE TO MY SON'S SEIZURES. Even though I don't mind it I've discovered if it's here he eats/drinks it and thinks it's okay so it's best not to even have it - ya just gotta love boys! ;-)
