I really enjoy swapping and I think I'm pretty easy to please. I'm looking forward to hearing from you!
I love to read! I'm usually listening to an audiobook in the car as well as reading a couple of actual books at a time at home. I don't have an e-reader - I know others absolutely love them, but I just can't bring myself to get one. I'm sure I would miss the feeling of an actual book in my hands.
I'm currently reading a lot of cozy mysteries, but really I will read whatever I can get my hands on. The only genre that I really stay away from is romance. Romance novels don't interest me at all. I'd love to hear about what you're reading now, or to get a book recommendation from you.
I love to hear the story behind a recipe - how you discovered it, who you like to serve it to, etc. I'm really not a picky eater, but my husband is. He refuses to eat fruits and vegetables that are mixed into a dish - he prefers them plain on the side. That said, though, I'm glad to receive your recipe for a veggie casserole - I'll just make it for myself as long as I can cut the recipe in half or quarters so I won't be eating it for the next two weeks!
Foods that I don't like are meatloaf, olives, and fish. Shellfish are fine, though. We do eat red meat, but I tend to prefer chicken. My husband hunts pheasant and we keep bees, so recipes featuring pheasant or honey are especially appreciated.
I'd really like to use my crockpot more, but it can be difficult to find recipes with a long enough cooking time. I am away from home 11-1/2 hours per day on the days that I work, so if you have any recipes with long cooking times, please send them my way.
I prefer to receive recipes on 4x6 cards if possible.
I'm not an artistic person, but I do really enjoy crafts. Counted cross stitch and crochet are my current favorites. I got a sewing machine recently and I'm just learning to sew. At Christmas-time, I always make homemade ornaments for gifts.
I have a fairly strong dislike for glitter and would prefer not to receive glittery items.
I'm happy to swap for teas and other hot drinks. I like to try new flavors and whichever flavors you choose to send are fine with me - if it's not my cup of tea (pun intended), I will just pass it on to someone else. I am a morning coffee drinker, so breakfast teas are not for me. I'm kind of ambivalent about chai teas - I like some but not others. Fruity/chocolate/other sweet teas are usually a hit with me. I also love unusual or seasonal flavors. Someone just sent me a cookie dough-flavored tea and that one was great!
