note: i'm out of the state at the moment. will return all msgs and follow up on monday, 11/10, thank you!
I'm a crafty girl from southern California looking to swap with fellow crafters. I'm trying to balance work and (hopefully) grad school so swapping keeps me sane ^^.
I always send on time and expect fellow swappers to do the same. If, for any reason, you do NOT receive your item please message me first. I can always send out something else (though I hate it when I spend a lot of time and effort into a project only to have the post lose it -__-)
I'm a huge fan of chibi things. stuff with fat rabbits being my fav.
Colors I like are red, black, yellow in combination with green. Blues and Purples are neat too. I really enjoy collecting cute cards and stationery (that I use 'n not just horde as I love a good hand written letter).
I like sunsets over sunrises, things with 'sun' in or on them (it is my name), palindromes, metropolitan life, fleur de lis, hand-drawn art, & international stickers.
I also like Japanese block art (Hokusai!), Murakami (saw his exhibit and really enjoyed it) and of course Miyazaki (Graveyard of the Fireflies being my FAVOURITE).
I'm also keen on photography (found swap-bot via flickr) and like to take pictures of: food, cupcakes, greenery & scenery, cartoon rabbits, wabbits or even bunnies.
I should also note that I like anthropomorphism. That basically means that I like it when everyday objects (like a cup) has a face and feet and arms. So imagine all those fun Disney cartoons which are full of anthropomorphic characters. Therefore, a cartoon version of every day objects always make me giggle.
I don't have favorite tv shows since i don't watch cable but i do like to watch shows on dvd (no commercials, no waiting-for-next-week). Sometimes I'll spend an entire weekend watching a complete season (anyone else do this? :P)
I've been making homemade cards for as long as I can remember. I make party decorations for the events I plan (and am dabbling in some freelance party planning). I'm tempted to try my hand at sewing and knitting but I'm not very patient ^^ I also like origami but am a bit impatient.
I'm new to the world of DIY jewelry making and it's difficult for my not so nimble fingers but I do enjoy working on projects.
I'd call myself a newbie foodie as I'm not a pro by any means.
I like to cook and bake but by experimenting with spices and different fusion of recipes.
I do enjoy eating, cooking, baking and lately have been toying with decorating. I like red velvet cupcakes, vanilla cake with fruit fillings, animal shaped cookies and dark dark chocolate dipped stawberries.
Flavor wise: peach! lychee! pineapple, grape, strawberry. NO melon or watermelon please.
I love international snacks too. The more local the flavor - the cooler for me.
I support mom 'n pop book stores. I like shopping at local comic book shops. Support your local economy ^^
Graphic novels are so neat. (I know not everyone thinks they are 'novels' but I enjoy them just the same) I like DC (for Batman & Teen Titans ^^) and Marvel (for all the characters really - some top favs being X-Men, Deadpool, Spidey of course). I like classic Wonder Woman and DC - circa Golden & Silver Age. I like Neil Gaiman's Sandman (that took a while to read but was well worth it - especially when Cain & Abel were 'chibi' ^^), and I like Madman (just finished Vol 1)
I like the 'indie' comics too; the ones that haven't made it big but have great stories. Have a title I should check out? Send me a copy and I'll do the same.
Oh and check out The Adventures of Cavalier & Clay (a 600 page novel - a real one with only words lol) by Michael Chabon. It's a great story, a fast read & even has its own spin-off comic.
I love to travel! Domestic, International, what have you. I like learning about new cultures, and of course trying new foods! My passport isn't too filled but I plan to visit each continent at some point. . .
I like things that are practical/useful. I already have too many knicknacks so I prefer receiving things I can use: pens, pencils, stickers, cards, magnets, and of course something YOU made ^^
Oh and you can send me neat religious things. I know some swappers love it or leave it but I wouldn't mind a swap or two.
I like pinbacks/pins with whimsical designs, funny slogans and campy fun.
I take far too many pictures for my own good so a picture or two from your neck of the woods would be so keen. Maybe something that's unique to your area or showing me "around" the town you live in.
I'm not very picky so send away. I think most of the joy comes in knowing that someone was thoughtful enough to send something and to of course send something back that's just as appreciated ^^
