I retired from the Air Force in 2005 to stay home with my kids, ages 6, 7, and 8. The kids are all in school now so I spend my days cleaning house, laundry, cooking, and anything else that is required to take care of my family. Occassionally I sub at my children's school, which brings in a little fun money to support my hobbies. My husband is also retired from the Air Force and is working on base as a civilian. A few years ago we rescued a Bulldog/Boxer mix that is the sweetest dog in the entire world. We enjoy traveling, NASCAR, baseball, WOW Sprint Car Racing and just being together.
I absolutlely love to cross stitch and I am in many cross stitch groups. I also enjoy making cards, paper crafts, basketweaving and a little (very little) scrapbooking. You can see some of the things I have made on my blog.
Elton John, Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, YoYo Ma, Bad Company, some country, some classical. Perfer not to listen to music on the radio. I keep my radio tuned to the local PBS station KERA.
Mysteries - Stewart Woods and Tess Garretsen are my absolute favorite authors. I love to read cozy murder mysteries by Elaine Viets and Fran Rizer. Recently started to readthe Harry Potter series, since my kids are getting older and interested in Harry I thought I would join in the fun. A great place for free books is PaperBackSwap.com, that is where I find most of my murder mysteries.
I love tea, hot or cold, and I am willing to try any flavor, although I have found out that I am not that fond of Chai. I also enjoy a good cup of black coffee--no too strong or acidic, I perfer a mellow coffee. Chocolate is my favorite and I will take it in any form. My favorite color would have to be blue--I am always drawn to blue things. I love fal colors orange, brown, greens, ans some soft yellows. As for crafty stuff, I prefer handmade cards be left without any words or sentiments unless it is specific to the swap for instance, Christmas, Birthday, etc. Some sayings/sentiments are very personnal and I prefer to add my own.
