My one 1 rating was due to the fact that I had terrible food poisoning and was deathly ill for over a week. I let my partner know the swap was mailed a day or two late. She rated me 3 when she received it because - as she said - it was a couple days late. A couple weeks later, she went back in and changed the rating to a 1 saying she never received the swap.
The moderator of the swap was aware of all this and had seen the original 3 rating but couldn't get her to change the 1 back to a 3.
I'm a wife of over 30 years, married to a wonderful man who owns his own upholstery shop. A native Texan, I was dragged kicking and screaming to northern Indiana as a child where I was kept prisoner until I escaped to East TN (near Knoxville) in 1985. Thank the Lord for the South!
Have one grown son who is married, but no grandchildren. I've fostered 16 children. Was a pastor for 10 years. Now I spend my time taking care of hubby and playing with crafts - especially paper and yarn.
I'm very conservative, but I LOVE to laugh and have fun! Like to play games like Yahtzee, White Elephant Bingo (my FAVORITE), Rummikub, Canasta, BuzzWord, Scrabble and more. My tastes are fairly traditional but eclectic. I love, love, love almost anything vintage or retro!
I am adding/adapting my profile so please check back before sending new swaps.
PLEASE check with me if you don't get a swap from me! I live in a relatively small town and do have both USPS problems and email problems at times but will definitely resend anything I owe you to be sure you receive it! I will also angel or help you find an angel if you're flaked on in ANY swap I host. Just contact me if there's a problem of any kind.
I'm a Cricut, Sizzix and embossing addict and LOVE paper and paper crafts. I haven't done any zines yet, but love the idea! They sound amazing! I also like to crochet and read, but card making, scrapbooking, "Cricutting" and paper crafting are my faves! I have a TON of paper, a gazillion stickers, a barrel full of ribbon and a bunch of stamps though I'm not very good at stamping.
I'm always open to swapping paper, ribbon, Cricut or Sizzix cuts or stickers!
I'm a fan of ATCs, too, and love making and swapping them! I'm not as "artistic" as some, but I enjoy them and do try to make them look good. If you're interested in trading, let me know.
I have 100s of ATCs that were given to me by someone getting rid of all her cards. If you'd like to trade for some, please contact me!
I am an avid reader. I think I would wither away if I couldn't read. I like a variety of books, especially old books, old cookbooks, Christian suspense and old-time whodunits.
Agatha Christie is my all-time favorite author, but I love and have read all of Dee Henderson's books, as well as Irene Hannon, Brandilyn Collins, Mary Higgins Clark and similar authors. Also like to read Mrs. Pollifax books and am always on the lookout for new authors who don't go in for a lot of foul language or sex.
DON'T like anything with sex, gore, supernatural, witchy or Halloween themes.
Almost anything black & white though I'm not too keen on war stories. LOVE old mysteries, musicals, comedies. I love the old actors like William Powell, Cary Grant, David Niven, Ginger Rogers and the list could go on. Some of my favorites are Fiddler on the Roof, Newsies, any of the Thin Man movies, comedy westerns like Texas Across the River or the Sheepman. I also love any with Tim Conway and Don Knotts, as well as Sabrina (old and newer versions),
About the only "modern" shows I watch are cop shows - NCIS, NCIS: New Orleans, NCIS: Los Angeles, Blue Bloods and Hawaii Five-O. I also watch the true crime shows like Forensic Files and Southern Justice. As in everything else, I like retro TV but not the shows I've seen a trillion times. I LOVE Hee Haw! (Yeah, it's corny, but it's so much fun!) My tastes vary as you can see.
My music tastes vary like everything else, but my favorite style is '70s. Brandy is the best song EVER... also love Bob Seger, Al Green, Joan Baez, Crosby Stills & Nash and many, many more. I'm picky about the lyrics and won't listen to crude, sacriligious or "trashy" lyrics but I love that '70s folk and light rock sound even in the Christian music I listen to. I especially like ballads with good words and an uplifting message.
