I have several passions in life. My family keeps me very busy. I'm married (26 years) have 3 children and two grandsons. The love of my life is my #1 son, Henry, a black lab. I've been employed with the postal service for 25 years and I am ready for retirement! I also help my husband in his business, he designs and builds furniture. In my spare time I like gardening, quilting, and going camping. I also am an avid reader. There is no one author or subject I focus on, mainly its what I find at a yard sale or at my local thrift store. However, I do not read romance novels. One of my newest interest is making beaded bookmarkers.. I am also fascinated with, and one day hope to try , rug making, ATC, altered art, fiber art, and collages. I love cooking , collecting cookbooks, going to yard sales, flea markets, and shopping the thrift stores. The wierdest thing that I collect (I don't even know why) is root beer bottle caps.
The only movie that I will watch over and over again is GIANT. It never bores me.
I really don't watch much television. If I do it is Antique Roadshow on the local PBS channel. I do like Boston Legal but it seems I never get a chance to watch it, even when my husband records it for me.
I'm into quilting right now. I love fabric and can't seem to control myself in the fabric stores.
Besides Henry my black lab, I have two other Dogs that were left in my care by my children, Pumpkin a mixed bulldog and Maverick a mix of everything. I love spoiling them and making them doggie treats.
I do listen to my Ipod all the time. I down load various podcast every day and listen to them at work. My favorite one is The Splendid Kitchen. I listen to quilting shows, crafting shows, gardening, several other cooking ones and a lot of the NPR podcast.
I am addicted to Coffee and Coca Cola..... I have one of these beverages in my hand at all times....I've tried some teas, and I will drink them if I don't have access to to the two C's.
When I am at theyard sales or thrift shopping there are several things I look for:
vintage fabric
old quilts
pottery (bowls, jugs, crocks)
kitchen items
books
unusual t shirts
ice cream scoops
$1.00 paintings that are really worth thousands :)
pre -1960 fisher-price pull toys
madam alexander dolls
