Type 3?

user6181 06/18/2015 #

it's just one ATC. Its Flat mail.

Type 3 also includes "any time-intensive craft swaps", so most people class ATCs as type 3 because of the time-consuming creative element.

swamplover 06/24/2015 #

Mine is ready to go but I agree, this should be a type 3:)

mamajoy 06/25/2015 #

Please change. All ATCs are type 3. It's a craft/art. It's not fair to swappers looking to increase their type 3 count in order to join more swaps. Thank you.

Will not join until swap is changed to a type 3. The fact that it remains unchanged speaks volumes!

tigerlilly327 06/30/2015 #

Dropping this one. I put too much effort into my ATC's for them to not be a type 3 swap.

Roseg 06/30/2015 #

@user6181 ATC's are something most members put time and effort in therefor they are Type 3 swaps. ATC's are not always flat. Type 2 swaps would be a letter or note card. That is what a Type 2 swap is. I don't feel anyone is trying to personally attack you rather they are just trying to let you know that this is a Type 3 swap. If you check out other ATC swaps they are all listed as a Type 3.

I would join too if the swap was correctly designated a Type 3. I heart trees!

user6937 06/30/2015 #

A postcard is a type 2, unless it's handmade, then it's a type 3 - like an ATC, it involves time to make. Even though it's usually flat.

user6181 07/ 1/2015 #

OK. I miss understood the meaning of flat mail. It is now a type 3 and all of my ATC swaps will be type 3 from now on

Darida 07/ 3/2015 #

why is that important? 2 or 3? how this will affect me or my swap? I never really pay attention to this ....... should I?

thebragal 07/ 3/2015 #

@darida It matters mostly to fairly new swappers who need a certain number of type three swaps to be able to join a swap or group with specific requirements. For us 'seasoned' swappers, it doesn't matter too much but I also won't join one unless it's correct. Most ATC swaps used to be type two and I used to have to fight with swappers to get them to change it to type three. I'd go through swaps and PM anyone with it set to type two even if I wasn't going to join. It finally started to change!

thebragal 07/ 3/2015 #

'Fight' is the wrong word but there was some strong debate over the matter!

Darida 07/ 3/2015 #

Thank you so much @thebragal I never really thought about this, I guess I was too exited about other things like swaps itself and creativity etc..

TC 07/ 6/2015 #

It's important to me, because knowing swap types indicates a host's understanding of SB rules. If anything about the swap description is wrong, it makes me wonder if the host really knows how to do other things - like ban bad swappers or mediate if there's a problem.
