Our stockings will soon be empty, so it's time to start thinking about filling them again!

This is a USA swap only. Feel free to host your own international one.

ALSO - there are a couple of swappers that sometimes join my swap that are from Canada, but have a USA address too....PLEASE CHECK YOUR PARTNERS PROFILE

You will have 1 partner and send one wrapped gift. A gift must cost minimum $1, not including postage. It can be store-bought or handmade. Your gift must be wrapped. Sender's choice. Do not send any food. Your partner may wait until December to open your gift. NOTE for the months of November and December food is allowed.

REQUIREMENT add a tag with your name/swap-bot ID/month in case your partner keeps it wrapped until December and wants to contact you then.

Once again, it's sender's choice. But please, check your partner's wish list and dislikes. No trash, no junk, no dirty/damaged items. You must send only new at least $1-valued wrapped item. NEW REQUIREMENT I've had some complaints that some of the gifts are too big to actually put into a stocking. Please try and send a gift that will actually fit into a stocking.

As long as it meets the swap requirements then please rate a 5, even if it's something you can't use.

You can open your gift once you've received it or you can pop your wrapped gift in your Christmas Stocking till December. It's up to you! But please do rate your partner once you've received it, even if you are going to keep it wrapped till Christmas.

Newbies welcomed, with a well filled out profile (I DO CHECK AND WILL BAN). No recent/unexplained low ratings and you must check into swap-bot within 3 days of partners being assigned. PLEASE check out my profile page and read the "About Swaps I Host" section for an in-depth explaination of my swap rules.

Also ~ I live in "Boonyville" Michigan and sometimes our internet connection isn't very good. This is especially true when it rains & in the winter months. I have been told that swap hosts have 7 days after the sign up date to assign partners. So please be patient, partners will get assigned and if needed I will extend the send date.

If you know of a bad swapper signed up for this swap, I appreciate being informed, but please DO NOT post to the comment section! Send me a PM and I will deal with it that way.

I also have a Kid's version of this swap

I am curious if anyone has ever succeeded in saving all 12 gifts until Christmas? I've only ever joined one, I think it was November, and I still have mine waiting for me ... But I'm not sure I'd be patient enough if I started in January, tho I LOVE the thought of it. Anyone done it? :)

MCGalaxy 12/20/2015 #

No i haven't. I saved most of them but there were a couple that I just used as a bad day pick me up

FeltPrincess 12/21/2015 #

That's a good idea too. :)

njstauter 12/21/2015 #

I open on Winter Solstice, which is tonight and saved all the gifts. They were wonderful! It gave me plenty of ideas for this year's swaps.

FeltPrincess 12/22/2015 #

@njstauter that's awesome. Well done for being patient and waiting!! :) you have inspired me ... maybe I will try. it would certainly be a lesson in patience, and the reward of not giving in to temptation. :) lol

institches 12/22/2015 #

I've hosted this swap for 2 1/2 years. I have saved mine to open at Christmas. 2014's didn't get opened until in January of this year!

FeltPrincess 12/22/2015 #

@institches wow! lol awesome :)

me2u 12/23/2015 #

I'm really confused. In the comments it talks of saving all 12 gifts to open in December but in the description of swap it says one gift to be mailed out in Janyary. Please clarify, I don't want to join and do it wrong. Thanks

armadillogal 12/24/2015 #

I am in two different swaps like this and I saved almost all of mine. I use a tote bag that has my cats picture on it instead of a stocking and it hangs near my desk.

institches 12/25/2015 #

@me2u - I host this swap each month.

So if you join in January, you will have one partner. Wrap the gift, put a gift tag with the following information: Fill My Stocking- January; your name and user name. Then mail off to you partner.

Then you can join again in February with the same info and on through the year.

In December 2016 you will have 12 gifts to open

GlitterBird 12/25/2015 #

For those who have participated before, what are some of your favorite gifts you've received?

yomousey 12/26/2015 #

I have a question, if we are going to be patient and save the pkg. til December, do we rate when we receive it? Sorry I am terrible at following directions and always want to make sure I know what I'm doing. Just too many senior moments lately;)

myspudmuffin 12/26/2015 #

With so many joining swap and lots watching if we get the numbers any interest or thought in maybe doing more than 1 partner?

kmb0604 12/26/2015 #

Love this idea. I must of done your September one and I did save it until Christmas Morning.

I am planning to join.

Slippy8 12/29/2015 #

I save mine until December 1st and open one a day like an advent calendar. Between these monthly swaps and other stocking stuffer swaps I had enough this year to get me to Christmas.

@GlitterBird - some of my favorites this year were holiday themed items like stickers, washi tape, and gift tags and also profile based things like thimbles for my collection, earrings, and stationary.

njstauter 12/29/2015 #

I always rate everything I receive in S-B when I get it. These small gifts sometimes have tags and if they do, I will send another message to the person's profile.

Some of the best gifts were taken from my profile and were valued at way beyond $1 min. This was my first year, so I didn't do that with what I sent. However, THIS year, I plan to do more thoughtful giving. People are often most generous and because I live so far from family, these small packages made my holiday very bright.

institches 12/30/2015 #

@yomousy - yes you would rate a 5 as long as you receive a wrapped gift.

What I have done the last 2 1/2 years I've hosted this swap is go back to my partners profile and left a comment there thanking them for the gift.

(Though I haven't even opened my gifts yet for 2015)

institches 12/30/2015 #

@myspudmuffin - due to my postage budget I can only do one partner each month

waldfee 12/30/2015 #

Finally here's an international version of the swap series: http://swap-bot.com/swap/show/214387 - thanks again to instiches for her permission! Happy new year!

me2u 12/30/2015 #

@institches thank you so much for the info. This sounds like so much fun.

CANNEKCUL 12/31/2015 #

Yes. I wait until Christmas Day to open my gifts! My God daughter visits from Seattle, and we open them together. It has become a ritual and it lots of fun.

RUBYSTARR 01/ 1/2016 #

so much fun.. i am so ready!!.. hope i can hold out not opening them..lol

Kktaylor 01/ 2/2016 #

I can't wait, I hope I can wait to open mine also.

me2u 01/ 2/2016 #

When do we get out partners? Deadline to sign up was Dec 31st.

Kktaylor 01/ 3/2016 #

Was wondering the same thing. I'm excited to get started.

whytewillow 01/ 3/2016 #

I have saved ALL 12 gifts and then some other holiday swap gifts as well. I live alone, and that positively made my Christmas. It's such fun to have all these wee gems of surprises. Its worth it if you have no one close by to celebrate the holidays with.

3goldkeys 01/ 4/2016 #

I caved in until several days before Christmas.

Jamnj 01/ 7/2016 #

Actually didn't open them (all 12) until Jan. 1. I wanted to do them all at once and w my roommate here. We were busy w company and going out so I waited.
