I am Angie. I am a mother, wife, daughter, neice, aunt, cousin, granddaughter and friend. What I am saying is this: I am a real person, flesh and bones, with emotions, dreams, hopes, and desires. I am not just a name on a screen.
I am a United States disabled veteran. I am proud that I served my country.
I was a nurse for over 20 years.
I graduated from university with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and chemistry.
I am a clown, no, I mean a real clown. I had a clown ministry or several years while raising my children. We clowning, puppets, mascots, gospel magic, comedy acts, and we even had a band. We had a huge amphitheater on wheels and used it to go into the worst neighborhoods and tell the children about how much Jesus loved them. A lot of these accepted Christ as their Savior, thus becoming Christians. I have a lot of happy memories from those days.
I like swapbot for the socialization, even more than swapping, and I would rather grant wishes than swap. I tend to want to be in groups where there is some chatter, and people can get to know each better. Please don't be offended if I drop your group if there is not much conversation going on. It is nothing personal at all. I also have to delete some groups as I am trying to find a nitch where I really fit in. Everyone is different and each group has its own "Style". They are all good, at least it seems so to me. Ok? Nuffield said!
Shlinder's List, Notebook, Lorenzo's oil, China Cry, Hunger Games,I like movies that portray the hopes, strength, weaknesses, and dreams of the human condition. I like almost all Holocost movies.
Television- Wife Swap, The Walking Dead, Sonlife Broadcasting Network.
Bible, distopian fiction ( I just read the Hunger Games trilogy and Divergence.)
I have just finished " A Time To Kill" by John Grisham and am currently reading, "The Firm" and "Ford county" by him. I read one Dean Koontz novel and plan to read another one soon. I just finished "The Notebook".
I like most kinds of music: southern gospel, praise and worship, contemporary gospel, jass, big bands, R&B, pop and some classic rock, Celtic, Latino, classical, Motown, soul, reggae. (I do not like opera, rap, metal.)
I am a firm believer that Jesus Christ is God incarnate, born of Immaculate conception, completely without sin and that He died a sacrificial death for all of Mankind (even those who don't believe in Him, and those that reject Him). I believe He now resides in heaven and is waiting on all true believers to meet him there. I also believe that He loves all people, regardless of their race, gender, ethnicity, color, creed, religion, handicapped status, or sexual orientation. I believe that He is Holy and He hates sin. I did NOT say He hates sinners. As His child, I also love everyone, (although my love is not as perfect as his love). Because I claim to be a Christian then I try to be like Jesus and live like he did. He was merciful and loving to sinners but He never approved of sin. He hates jealousy, spiritual pride, lying, stealing, worshiping idols, dishonoring parents, Gossip, sexual sins, gluttony, selfishness, back biting, false witnessing, and so many other things that are sins that mankind does. I reiterate that He does not hate the people who do these things, for we all have done most, if not all of these things. And I admit, and even the bible says that "Sin is fun".
So, I am a Christian, unashamed, undaunted, and completely sold out to my love for Christ and His word, the bible. Jesus said in the bible, "If You love Me, keep my commandments". This means that If I say I am a Christian, then I should do my best to follow the teachings of the bible and adhere to them with all of my ability. I am still a human being, with frailties and weaknesses, and even baggage. I do still sin at times, but when I feel the Lord correcting me, I ask for forgiveness. I realize that I can and never will be good enough by my own behavior to reach heaven. That is why God sent His Son, Jesus, to shed His sinless blood for me.
I have observed that many people think that Christians hate them, and call us ugly names like haters. That is such a prejudiced statement and so judgmental. I do not like to be judged like that, for I would rather be judged on my own merits. I also do not like the hypocritical way that people of other faiths or no faith are so intolerant to the Christian belief system. It seems like everyone is allowed "Freedom of religion" to express what they adhere to, but Christians are "Shut down" and not treated the same way as others. Oh, and the animosity of some people when they even hear I am a Christian. Oh, and btw, why do some people who say that that they don't believe in God get so mad at people who do? I mean, why waste the emotional energy on fighting against something that they say they don't believe? I am not talking about anyone on swapbot, but I have observed this on many online Christian discussion boards over the years. I have joined a lot of these sites just to discuss the bible, or to talk about Jesus and there have always been so many nonChristians on there interrupting, arguing, and literally would not allow Christians to fellowship with other Christians . I guess they would be called trolls.
I like making atcs, postcards, inchies, twinchies, skinnies, rolos-all three sizes.
I want to sew a crazy quilt so if you have any wacky looking fabric scrap, I could use it.
I am an artist and do landscapes in oils and acrylics.
I like to do lighthearted and fun paintings. I would like to get into more urban and pop art.
My favorite art form is making collages and I do themed ones. I have won 1st place for the state of Mississippi for five years straight. I did one a couple of years ago titled, "Generations of Freedom" which was extremely patriotic and very thought provoking about why we must fight to keep freedom alive for the future generation's sake. I actually won a bronze medal representing the US veterans. I am very fond of vintage and/or Victorian. I have completed three large Victorian collages and all were first place winners for the state of Mississippi.
I like almost any color paired with black and any color paired with white. I love black and white combinations.
I love red/pink,
I love all neon colors, bright colors, holographic images, and glow in the dark.
I love the wild colors and patterns from the 60's and the wild colors from the 80's. (I used to love dressing like Madanna back then, lol)
I love colors associated with the carnival atmosphere of New Orleans- think purple, gold, emerald green. I also love Peacock colors.
Salvador Dali, Andy Warhol, Georgia Okeefe, Jackson Pollock, Kadinsky,
My favorite paintings are "Starry Night" by Vincint Van Gogh (This was my son, Dallas, favorite painting also) and Michael Angelo's "God Touching Adam".
My favorite local artist is Wyatt Waters. I would love to have the cookbook with loads of his watercolors displayed-or some of his old calendars.
Wish list
Tim Holtz type things, 7 Gypsies stuff,
I also want funky, wacky, over the top, outlandish,
I live graffiti and urban art, lots of metallics, and , street scenes.
I have purchased little girl "Ballet shoes" Christmas tree ornaments and little girl "Victorian doll faces" ornaments. I have been wanting to do a tree decorated like this for over 25 years. I could not do it until my sons were out of the house. I would like any prettied up fancy handmade or bought ornaments to match these others. I would love to have my dream tree up this year.
Anything handmade with the name Dallas on it to celebrate my son's life (12-26-85 - 01-13-12) He loved Cratos 1964 1/2 Ford mustang, , the Terminator, lost causes, F14 Top gun plane, original art, computers, Android phone, Star Wars. I can add more later. I am trying to post a pic of him here in a digital collage his dad made but can not figure it out. People could copy that just to use for my art. I would love this more than anything in the world.
For collages:
United states patriotic, military, army, navy, marines, air force, and coast guard images. I am especially desiring pictures of military families showing their emotions upon reuniting, separating, grieving and more. An example would be a funeral scene with soldiers saluting, airplanes with the soldiers coffins being unloaded, soldiers praying, Soldier's graves, Vietnam Memorial wall, statues, and medals.
Victorian and vintage ephemera. (not pin ups).
Old war propaganda, posters, political buttons, etc (especially WWI and WWII)
Religious images that represent praying, God's hands, nail scarred hands, huge warring angels with swords (not the little cutsy ones that look weak), the bible, doves and flames of fire representing the Holy Spirit. I would prefer these to be more realistic looking. I wouldI do not care for old images of old cathedrals, dead saints, statues, Mary, or of Jesus hanging on a cross.
Religious items except for those listed above
Food, drinks, candy, etc
Stickers, scrap booking items fibers, fabric, disney, kawaii, glitter, confetti, or paper unless it fits the criteria above ( I have loads and loads and someone else could use them)
Anything Americana and 80's type "Folk art". I can't stand it!
I rate right when I receive.
People who just "Never give Hearts".
People mean spirited, snarky, or arrogant, unfair, or unforgiving, drama llamas.
People who share PMs with others. (Trust is very important).
People who prefer to go to the PFs with a problem instead of working it out with the involved party.
People who call other people names or slander them. (I prefer facts to be presented and not defamation of character.)
People who make fun and laugh at other's expense.
Flakers- meaning people who are obviously trying to deceive others and steal . ( I don't think it is fair to call someone who has been here for years or has done lots of swaps, and is going through a hard time and gets behind a "Flaker". I think that is unjustified and non caring and also not realistic. Just live long enough and " I promise you" that your life will turn upside down too.

Oh Angie....it is so good to hear from you and see that you are back on SB again!!! I have missed you and all my christian SB friends SOOOOO MUCH!!! Thankyou so much for the sweet note:))) I have found total peace through God's love and forgiveness about that situation....have graciously accepted the treatment I received and have moved on:))) I only wish that person would acknowledge my apology and most of all accept my apologies. But the good Lord knows my heart and that is what matters most:) I look forward to seeing your sweet face around SB.
Love,
Betty
Angie, the URL starts with https and I think that's for security? Don't know how to do that one but post in the forum and maybe someone better with Markdown will know how:)
If we make the popcorn balls this year, I'll let you know. My daughter lives in Arizona now, so we don't always get to have her birthday celebration at Halloween. But, I'll keep you in mind, and if we make them, I'll let you know so I can RAK you a couple.
I watched the video on your Website! I love that song and was so touched by it all:)
From one Christian Mom with a 'passed away' grown child to Another....sending you Hugs and saying prayers for you. I read about your faith in the Forums and wanted to say 'thank you' for sharing. I don't go to church often (back problem) but still have a part in the Family. I kept a Journal about my feelings during grieving time, it seemed to help me. I also read a book called 'On Grief and grieving' that really helped. Just wanted you to know that I do understand your pain and feel your loss.
