03/18/20: Well here we are with this virus & quarantine issues looming all around us. It is troubling times for our world. Everyone is affected. As for me, I'm still working as we try to keep floors & plumbing in our customer's home who depend on us. We are all existing day by day.
My house is still in turmoil with boxes & stuff everywhere as I go through all of my mother's & my items deciding what to keep & what to go.
With all this, I am also working on my on-line Vintage Shop. Setting up my office has been the #1 priority. Then the legalities and the actual set-up of the on-line store. I have an Antique store ready to showcase my items after I'm all set up and our country is back to normal. I can't work on my warehouse until I've gotten all the excess stuff out of the garage. I'm hoping to have a garage sale in August when we have our annual hillwide sale where I live. That is my goal and I'm certain I will reach it as long as this virus issue is taken care of.
Thank you to all my Swap-Bot friends, new & old, who have taken the time to send condolences on the loss of my mother and just to show their support. It means the world to me.
Healing Prayers for our World. And please, everyone, calm down. We will get through this. We always do.
12/07/19: Mom passed away this morning. Her days of suffering are over. Didn’t quite make it to her 88th birthday (01/13). I will miss you Mom; my mother, my best friend.
11/12/19; Well, Mom has been in the hospital for almost a week now and I am working on getting some assistance so she can stay at home. I want to have as much time with her as possible I will be on and off with Swap-Bot and anyone who can help out on my Groups, would be appreciated.
09/17/19: My time on Swap Bot may be erratic as my mother's condition is worsening and I am exhausted. Not to mention dealing with a lot of household items to be done. My craft room is a mess with boxes and bags of items to go through so I can't get to anything until I deal with that. So, please bear with me as I will post swaps and messages as I can.Thank you for your kind consideration and continued support. I truly do appreciate it.
05/09/19. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO WISHED ME A HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I REALLY APPRECIATE IT!
03/12/19: Update. Still dealing with the stress of caring for an ailing Mom, but taking it day by day. Nothing major going on, which is a blessing. Mostly I wanted to say how much I appreciate all the Love & Support I have been giving from all my Swap-Bot friends. Even those of you who are going through your own turbulence, are taking the time to reach out and send me some much needed support. I truly, truyly appreciate it and am humbled by it. THANK YOU!
11/12/18: I sit here and I write this in total disbelief.is that I am slowly losing my Mother and Best Friend. The Alzheimer's that is raging inside her. Her personality is all over the place and her concept of time is non-existent.
I will probably need to take a leave of absence from work to deal with all this. That being said, if I need to take time away from Swap-Bot, I will let you all know.
10/25/18: Finally have a chance to update this! I have been so busy working; setting up crafts for assorted craft & Christmas shows; getting ready for the holidays and running my many groups and swaps here at Swap-Bot. Organizing my craft room is on-going. My Mother is suffering from Alzheimer's and unfortunately it is getting worse. But I'm trying to be positive and have a good time.
As we move forward this year, keep the less fortunate in mind and be kind to one another. Kindness is a protective state of mind that should be held with open arms.
01/19/18: Well this year is not starting off well! I’ve got this horrible flu that’s going around. It is the worse I have ever had. I’ve been off work for a week because of it. That being said, I will be a few days late on some things including a couple swaps. Which has never happened and I trust my Swap- not friends will be patient with me as I try to catch up. Thank you.
Hi! My name is Sunny. I am active in crafts, scrapbooking & gift baskets. I have my own business called Basket Works where I create customized gift baskets. I don't ship just yet and haven't ventured to the Website deal--but, some day! Although I am not as good as some people at crafting, I enjoy everything I do.
My Mother is my inspiration. She just picked up scrapbooking at 83, and she's quite good at it. My best friend, Teresa, is an extremely talented jewelry maker who also inspires me. Another dear friend, Mari is suffering from Alzheimer's. It's so sad. She was such an extremely talented artist. She made the most beautiful wreaths and floral arrangements and I'm proud to say I have many samples of her work. Also some of her lovely floral paintings. She's in a home now and doesn't really remember me or her skills, but I still love her and hopes she finds some peace soon.
My favorite famous inspiration is Martha Stewart. She's amazingly talented and always trying to come up with new innovative goodies for us crafters to try!
In addition to my gift baskets, I make pin cushions, frame jewelry displays & inspiration boards. My favorite crafting items are: maps; cloth tape measures; sheet music; washi tape; glitter; paint; stencils of any kind; ribbon & lace & frames of any kind! & heart themed items.
I love country music, polka dots, watching HGTV & Homicide Hunter. I can't get enough of I Brake for Yard Sales & Flea Market Flip. I've also just started watching Garage Sale Gold. Oh yes, and I love the WWE.
I collect mini guitars, guitar picks, shot glasses & thimbles. I love cupcakes, polka dots & vintage pictures. I also love WWE Wrestling & watching it with my mother. I recently went to WrestleMania in San Jose. It was amazing.
My favorite colors are teal, aqua & Tiffany blue, yellow & red--but especially the teal, aqua & Tiffany blues. I love things in these colors in tea towels; note cards; pencil cases; note books; storage for small items like sequins; and of course anything handmade by the oh so talented Swap Bot Peeps!
My favorite sayings are: Get over it & It is what it is.
My favorite things are cupcakes (to eat as well as crafting & décor!), skittles, very cherry jelly bellies, Hershey kisses, Andes mints, Minions, My Melody, Tweety and supporting other crafters!
I love to upcycle. This is my new favorite thing. I just love to take something that has been beaten up over time and make it beautiful again.
My favorite thing to alter are frames, whether cabinet door frames or picture frames. There are so many different things you can do with them!
I live in San Francisco--the beautiful city by the bay!. I love it here! The weather is wonderful 80% of the time. Although Fall is my favorite time of year for weather. I swear no matter where I go Fall is beautiful.in every state! However, Christmas is my absolute favorite holiday. Love it, love it, love it. Everything about it. From the beautiful lights to the wonderful smells. At work, I decorate my desk (Reception desk) with Christmas & Hanukkah (owners are Jewish). At home, we have a white Christmas tree and we decorate it with red cardinals--love that look. And, although I shop all year round for gifts, I still love to go to the shops throughout the holidays. And, oh my God, those Holiday Craft Fairs! Love them! Always get into trouble. My friends laugh at me when I say I have a certain budget--who am I kidding! Lol!
I love snowflakes & snowmen (& women): ornaments, stickers, crafted items--doesn't matter. I do a holiday wonderland theme in my bedroom/office every year so maybe that's where this comes from. Especially Snowbabies--love these little guys. They are a big part of my display.
I am a fanatic diet Pepsi drinker. I love vanilla lattes & coffee in general. I do occasionally like a good cup of tea, Darjeeling is my favorite. But I also like Earl Grey. I hate fruit flavored ones; however, I used to drink a Strawberry black tea, that was amazing. But, alas, I can't find it anywhere. I also enjoy a good cup of hot cider. Yummy.
I am just starting out with journaling so I would love anything to do with that!
My dislikes: Eucalyptus or apple green smelling things. I don't like coconut or raisins. I love Vanilla. I never get tired of that scent. I hate bullying of any kind.
I am a big supporter of Breast Cancer Awareness; Autism Speaks; the Alzheimer's Foundation & Animal Rights Groups (I will not tolerate violence against animals!).
