Cheia is currently at the hospital because she was diagnosed meningitis a week ago. She is better now, and she will become healthy again too, but she is not good yet, so her swaps will be with delay. She is sorry about that and wants to apologize for that and hopes you understand that. My English is not so good too, but hopefully you will understand what I say! (I am her mother)
Hey there!
I am a 20 years old architecture student from Austria (Tyrol) and I really love to get actual mail - without knowing for real when it comes, or what it is, just something, you know?
Guess I just like it if life isn't always just going the same old ways, and there is never something unsuspected or so. Also I like the idea of sharing things with people, even though it's so hard to find real other people wanting to do so (or actually doing so.. heh)
One of my other hobbies is geocaching - I think somehow it really fits to swapping things, as it is also a bit about swapping things, taking and giving something back to random people, it just adds a little treasure hunt as well :)
Would be great to hear from you ;)
Best wishes, Verena
So, seeing other people's profiles, I decided to add this one here too - and really, I understand the reason it should be visible easily too, it's quite hard to find out, what other people like, if you don't see anything told about it all.
Well so, I like anything about architecture actually - pictures you would like seeing from random houses or so, just to see the house itself or the place it has been built at, and I just really enjoy nature as well though. I like seeing foreign places, and I am literally obsessed with Japan, or Asia in total. I love the landscape of Thailand or Taiwan, how modern everything is in Japan or South Korea, and how big, insanely big, just everything in China is. Love to find out what nice words there are and how their kanji looks, you'll surely know what I mean there, there's these words in every language, that just have a really nice meaning or sound good if you say them - in German a word I really like is Windfang; and guess what it means: It is the name few of us have (Austrians mainly I guess, never seen a German person use that word) for the first room, when you enter a house, the place where you'll leave your shoes and jacket at, but it has to have a door to the rest of the house, so nothing open. The word itself translated also just tells that: Wind means wind, easy, and -fang means catching - so that room catches the wind. It's logic, but still really nice somehow .. or at least I think so. ;) And one more thing - I love cooking so much, it's just a real lot of fun to cook, you can make so much out of so little things even, haha. So if you come up with a nice recipe, and want to share it, I would always be happy - or at least my family will :) I don't like limiting this, just have to say, I am allergic to walnuts, kiwi fruits and shrimps, to these really bad, just all the way stopping me from breathing.. :/ But the rest is fine - though, if these aren't the essential part in your recipe, I know how to work my way around, so no worries!
What else.. to make it short, I'll make a list :P so you don't have to read through everything and get bored ;)
Well, and that was that!
My absolute favourite here is drawing. I just love to draw as the limits just are given by one's own fantasy, whatever you want to create, it's already existing in your head, right? So what could be better than putting it on paper, and showing the world what you are secretly dreaming of?
But that's why I study architecture (well, one reason), I can get even into the next level there, draw and build to show what's in my head, and I really enjoy crafting the models there, or other little things (I also do origami, and already now all the professors know me for that, as I like to add some of that to my models, to just show what I wanted to do there in an artistic way.. haha)
I also make postcards sometime, but I made the experience that a lot of people don't like selfmade cards, so I keep that at a low level :P
I love reading! Just about everything actually, though usually I enjoy reading with the little bit of action, writers who create that tension between readers and the story, they are the ones I love the most. I am not actually a fan of love stories and such though, or just of "womens books" (you know, always the same story, woman in relationship finds out there is some problem with her guy and ends up being single, then struggles with life for a while and in the end things turn out great as she finds the perfect guy who was just always her best friend).
One book i really liked for example is Perfume by Patrick Sueskind - and I always enjoy reading Wolfgang Hohlbein, Joy Fielding, Henning Mankell or Sebastian Fitzek and quite a few more, I can't really think of right now.. :)
Music .. it's so hard to add this one for me, even when it's just in talking with others, somehow I don't like to talk about music. Well, mostly I like anything - sometimes I really enjoy just instrumentals, especially the Asian themed ones there, but also Bach or Mozart do a really good job when I'm in the mood for them; most of the time I will simply go for whatever is on my radio (luckily we have a radio channel here, which never plays advertisement, I love it more every single day) - that means, most of the time I am just listening to random music of the top 100.. And then again, I have some all-time favourites. These are also just scattered everywhere - for example, I liked Sarah Connor, I have that album "Green eyed soul", and most of the songs really just got something catchy about them, I'm not even ashamed to say it. They're good to listen to, if you have some work to do, that has to be going fast as otherwise you might go crazy in there - you know that kind? Also I listen to Him, 3 Doors Down, or Placebo - both sound a bit depressing sometimes, but actually they keep me going to even better moods; I usually draw with these on. And then I also like listening to stuff as ACDC (it was my dad's favourite.. I had never seen why, until I came across the song "Hell's bells" which totally blew my mind, and ever since that I like them too), Linkin Park, Green Day, Nickelback, Breaking Benjamin (just amazing, really), Salvia, Staind, Shinedown...
Well you get the idea right? For me it's hard to talk about music, cause I can get myself into the mood for pretty much anything - while everyone else likes to stick to their little bit, and then can't understand my opinion :P But for me, it just has to be the right situation. I'm gaming? Then I'll like something harder. Jogging? I'll need a good beat. Drawing? Anything that doesn't catch me too much into it, so I can still just forget about everything else.. better no singer there, or something quiet. :)
