I am a mother at home who homeschools her two children. I am trying to balance doing some fun hobbies just for me with raising and homeschooling my children. I am a volunteer Cub Scout Leader. I am a writer and a blogger (I have two blogs).
I read a lot. I love bookhunting as a hobby also!
I have been doing ATCs and online swapping of ATCs for over two years, they were my portal to begin making art and the wa I found out about doing "alternative art". I like to do various altered art projects and also keep a journal/artist journal. I am experimenting with metal in making art. I am trying to teach myself to draw also.
If I could I would make art and play around with projects all day long...but responsibilities intervene.
I am terrible at machine sewing and hand sewing and have basically given up on fabric arts for now. I also tried knitting but so far "can't get it". So I am entirely not a part of the fiber arts craze that is happening right now.
I have been doing more photography lately with my digital camera. I am experimenting with altering photographs. I also am experimenting with different features on my camera that I didn't realize the camera could do.
Bruce Springsteen, Jimmy Buffett, Tori Amos. I listen to some 80s pop, too. Listen to some country, some movie and Broadway soundtracks and of course, I listen to children's music, LOL.
I don't like many movies. I prefer reading books.
I'll change the subject---my favorite artist is Kurt Schwittters and I love the Dadaist artists work. I love collage.
Cooking shows such as Good Eats, Ace of Cakes and Throwdown with Bobby Flay. I like some reality shows, Survivor, Amazing Race, Wife Swap and Trading Spouses. I enjoy interesting biographies and some of the HBO series.
collage, mixed media collage, artist trading cards, journaling, artist journals, learning to draw, metal crafting, hand carving rubber stamps. Want to learn: lino cutting, wood cutting, and screen printing.

Christine, as we discussed, I wouldn't mind going back and re-hosting some of the previous swaps. That would give some of us that missed out on the previous ones a chance to catch up. And then maybe you'll be free to begin hosting the new ones again. You've done such a great job on these, I for one would love to see you host more of them. Thank you so much for introducing this book to swap-bot.
I am too busy to host swaps right now. If someone wants to take over hosting the series about ATCs based on methods in Bernie Berlin's book, go for it. I may join it if I have time to participate but I just don't have time to host the swaps.
Thanks to everyone who participated in the past, you are a great bunch of reliable swappers who make fantastic art!
I have been hosting a series of ATC swaps based on techniques taught in Bernie Berlin's book "Artist Trading Cards Workshop".
