About Me

Hi, My name is Felicia, and I am a craft addict.

Lately my favorite thing to do is sewing. I'm into making totes, morsbags and zipper pouches. Gah. I am a total frabiholic. Help... send more fabric!

I am a 39 year-old, Texican. Born and raised in Houston and have done time, errr, I mean spent time in California. I think I know California better than I know Texas. My dad lived there for 25 years. My brother still lives In Northern CA. I get back there as much as I can. I've driven the whole of the west coast, from Seattle to as far down as Laguna, CA. I still have not made it to San Diego. ??? I dunno.

Let's see... I am a mom to 13 year old, Damon. Aunt to 4 nieces (Helean, Mallory, Marina and Madison) and one nephew (CJ). They are all my babies. Madison and CJ practically live with me on the weekends. They are the youngest. I hardly ever get to see Marina, as she lives in Arcata.

I work in Compliance and Quality Assurance in the Petroleum Industry. But then I do live in Houston... what other industry is there? :P jk, there's lots.

I live with my son and long time boyfriend, Barry. They both get on my nerves. For Some reason they think they are more important than crafting... ? whatever. They have their college football and screamo music... I can have my crafting. right?

I have been here at Swap-bot since September '07. I love it. I enjoy making stuff and sending it off to appreciative people. I think tho, that I will slow down on public swaps and be very selective on Group swaps. I've been flaked on way too many times. I didn't care before, cos I do enjoy making and sending rather than receiving... but that's not what SWAPPING is about. So, to not have to give ones, I will be very selective in who I swap with. I am very open to private swaps with established swappers.. If you have an awesome record, let's swap. Newbies... will be on a case by case basis. International... if you're familiar with shipping times and know that it could take quite some time to get to you (or me) I'm open to swapping. but if you're expecting something in two weeks and there's a whole 10,000 miles between us... well, I'm not interested.

Anyway... I've met some really cool and creative people here. Some of which I would love to meet in person. I have quite a few favorite swappers here. They know who they are. There is one person who I don't mind calling out. She is a real life BFF. @san I love that girl! Check her out, she's awesome.

ummm... let's see... what else?

I try to do my part to take care of mother earth. I am not a fanatic, but I do what I can. I recycle what I can, I freecycle, just recently I learned how to fuse plastic bags... really cool. Check it out...

I don't care for extras, but I like tea... Oh... I love black tea. You know, if you're worried about receiving a heart from me, you'll get one if the swap makes me smile (and almost anything I receive makes me smile). but if you must include something as an extra... I like tea. :) actually I don't really care for flavored teas but I love black tea. hint hint. :P

oh yeah, these smilie things... :) :P :| 8o) and these !!!! and words like so anyway blah blah are like something I can't control. if it gets on your nerves... move along. Oh, yeah... I like to cuss like a drunken sailor. so beware

Crafts I Dig

Sewing, embroidery, making stuffies, morsbags...
I dig just about anything using fabric, felt, thread, buttons and beads and yarn and needles and ribbon and clay and glue and paint and markers and photoshop and illustrator and my camera and and and...

Stuff I Dig

Handmade stuff, Mexican inspired stuff such as, Frida and Dia de los Muertos, Red, The scent of vanilla, Garfield, Note cards, Baking, Magnets, Circus Peanuts, googly eyes, Candy Recipes, religious icons, cute (I really like cute), dachshunds, Gnomes, Skulls, Loteria, Hearts, starbucks, MadGab, Scrabble, Stuffies, Birdies, russian dolls, I prefer cotton Fabric, Mushrooms, Anthropomorphic stuff, Mod Floral graphics. Fat Quarters, Sublime Stitching Patterns, Embroidery Floss and dental floss ;P

Favorites

BOOKS - craft, chick-lit, memoirs and anything about the old south,(I enjoy audio books).
MUSIC - Blues, indie, old r&b
TV - I can't imagine living my life by a tv schedule. I know too many that do. I find that sad. However, when I do turn on the TV, its usually to keep me company while I am crafting or getting ready for work. Shows that do catch my attention are Sordid Lives, Sons of Anarchy, The Cleaner, The Starter Wife, Ugly Betty, Monk, Law and Order and Weeds. King of the Hill, Scrubs, That 70s Show are my faves, PTL for syndication! Oh... Since I keep my nieces and nephew most weekends, the bedroom tv flips between Disney Channel and Nick...I find myself enjoying(?) Hannah Montana, The Suite Life of Zach and Cody, the Wizards of Waverly Place and iCarly. weird.

Sports... I have a big 'ol, huge ass, ginormous sports freak attached to the remote. That means, I unwittingly know the latest news, who's on first, first down, who's who's rival, who beat who, who's in the play-offs, final four, world series, bowl games (rose, sugar, fiesta, orange) national championships, superbowl, finals... and OMG, I know which of the players went to LSU... However I have no clue about NASCAR or golf.

MOVIES -- Napoleon Dynamite! Indie, Drama and foreign, and Gay and Lesbian films and documentaries. I don't do big blockbuster hits or sci-fi or fantasy or horror...

COLORS --- since I've turned into a fabriholic, I am drawn to browns... all sorts of browns, browns mixed with pink and blue and light green and pink and... well anything, I think.
Normally though my favorites are Deep Dark Rich Reds and Blues. Black. I love black.

Just in case...

I AM NOT RELIGIOUS!!!
I have no affiliation to any organized religion, nor do I want one. However, I do like religious icons and I do enjoy learning about different religions. I prefer to not receive prayers or verses or psalms or anything that says God this or that... No worries though, if I do receive something to that effect I won't be offended, I won't go on a rampage, I won't complain in the forums... I'll just give to my mother - she is a true jesus freak. And by that I mean true jesus freak... I went to a funeral with her a couple of months ago... during some music thing this woman got up from her seat and started waving her arms in the air and singing. Loud. seriously. It freaked me out. I had to leave the church before the service was over. I couldn't believe THAT was my mother! argh! hahaha

STUFF I OWE:

Trying to keep track of my Group Games.
If I owe you something and you are not listed here, please let me know. I am becoming quite overwhelmed and trying to slow down on swaps and such... please pm me. thanks!
