A little bit about me. I am a ceramic artist, and use a lot of texture and colour in my pieces. Also been getting out there in the working world as well. I'd love to start my own business some day and work with non-profits and the arts. Ceramics, and music are pretty much my life!
I have lived in the midwest my whole life and been in Saint Louis for the most part. I'd love to get out, so seeing the postcard swaps definitely interested me, seeing new a different places!
I am a dog person! I love all animals, but pup pups are obviously the best. At one point though my family had a bunch of animals at once including, dog, cats, fish, lizards, and mice! When I go out on my own I am definitly getting a dog as my first companion!
I have some funky style mixed with prep and professional. I really work out some of my funk and fun with my jewelry. I might be wearing a business suit but still have bright pink huge dangly earrings on too.
I love colour! Pinks, Purples, Greens, Blues, even Yellows! And have been getting into Kawaii style jewelry and style. I get inspiration from colour and my nature and the environment. Definitely still an outdoor tomboy by nature but with a city edge.
Combining it into one
Music: Matchbox Twenty (Rob Thomas), Everclear, Motion City Soundtrack, Say Anything are my tops. Others include, Meatloaf, Hanson, anything with Jack White (White Stripes, Raconteurs, Dead Weather), The Academy Is..., The Killers. Basically lots of pop/punk and adult alternative.
Movies: I like independent films and older romantic comedies and anything with Johnny Depp or Vincent D'onofrio. Some of my top faves are, Ghost, Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, Sweeney Todd, Benny and Joon, Elizabethtown, When Harry Met Sally, You've Got Mail. But I am pretty much open to watching anything.
Books: I am a big reader, still read a lot of young adult/teen fiction. But some of the new stuff is pretty trashy so I am moving up. My favorite book of all time is a y/a novel called Rats Saw God by Rob Thomas. I adore Madeleine L'engel, and am still working on getting all her titles. I also really enjoy, Christopher Moore, Chuck Klosterman, Cassandra Clare, Laura Ingalls Wilder, and Tim Dorsey. Lots of fantasy, fiction, and weird characters. I also really like the Roger Hargreaves illustration with Mr. Men and Little Miss stuff, it is soo cute. I remember them as a kid and am glad they are making a comeback!
TV: Law and Order CI (as long as Vincent D'onofrio is in the episode), Gilmore Girls, Nip/Tuck, Heroes, How I Met Your Mother, The Office, Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job, King of the Hill, Ugly Americans, South Park
Postcards: I love all types, and especially weirder ones. If you have one in your collection that you have never sent because you thought no one would like it, send it to me, naked and written on please! I will gladly add it to my collection.
Anything crafty! I do love my ceramics, but I have done lots of other things with my hands; embroidery, latch hook, painting, drawing. I am willing to learn new crafts as well.
Jewelry! I love it all, from the classy to the funky. The only thing is I don't look particularly good in gold colours. I love earrings most of all, but am trying to build up to having more necklaces, rings, and bracelets.
Pigs!! I have a totally huge pig collection and am always looking for fun interesting ones to add to it!
Dogs! I love my little pup, so anything dog related is totally welcome. She is a cocker spaniel, so not so little, about 20-25 pounds or so and completely blonde with big brown eyes. She looks almost as good as me in the colour pink. She loves treats, but nothing that is too hard on her teeth. Balls that bounce and stuffed animals are her best friends! We have a newer dog now too who is still a pup but she is taller and longer than the cocker, she is a mix hound of some kind. She chews constantly!! so anything to help with that is appreciated :) She really likes ropes. We prefer not to get poo bags or holders because we don't use them, they have a large back yard to run around in.
Makeup! like jewelry another way I add a lot of punch to my style is through makeup. Bright shadows, glossy lips, glowing nail polish! It all works for me.
Candles, I am constantly burning them. Especially little tea lites, we also like the false tealites.
New music! I've worn out a lot of mine and need to find and listen to more. I'm open to lots of styles.
Anything inspiring! A beautiful photo, an inspirational message, anything that can help add to my art making and attitude! Also stuff that I can use to make textures on my pieces, this can literally be anything.
I also love Kawaii and Stickers and Lisa Frank! Really no specifics for Kawaii, I like it all. but if I had to pick favorites I would say Piggy Girl and a lot of Q-Lia are some of my faves. Also really loving Rilakkuma meets honey, and Lemons. Animal related Kawaii are probably the best. I trade and swap stickers so any kind will do.
Socks! Any type and colour, I love fun ones. But I do not like knee socks, they don't fit on my calves so well. So ankle socks please.
Noticed that some swaps may have sweets involved. While I do eat chocolate and enjoy it, I like fruity and sour candy much more! Things like Bottlecaps, Sweet Tarts, Warheads, Airheads, Nerds, etc. are great! Also love peanut butter, caramel, and cheese lol. I am NOT allergic to anything, but hate anything with even a little bit of spice. Not much of a tea drinker either, but love some cocoa.
