I'm a 31 year old Mum, Wife and Secondary school teacher (as well as other things of course!).
My daughter is 3 years old and keeps me very much on my toes. I live in Kent, in the South East of England.
In 2007 I did a Photo a Day project which logged my year in a photo a day. I reached October before I gave up. I was determined to complete a whole year of photos and so started again on 1st January 2008. On 31st December, I had a set of 366 photos that represented my year. I started again in 2009, but had lost my mo-jo by then. Instead, I turned to blogging. My blog can be found at: http://someday-ill-be.blogspot.com/ It is a document of me if you like without the 'pressure' of having to document everyday. I love the whole world of blogs that I've found out there and have participate in not only giveaways but also some great swaps (including a sea side themed swap and a children's mail swap).
I love to sew.
I only got my sewing machine at Christmas, so there are many things I am still learning, but I love collecting (hoarding?) fabric and I love nothing more than when I've made something for my little girl and someone comments that they really like it, she replies (as cool as anything) "mummy just made it".
I am always trying to build up my sewing supplies - fabric, thread, buttons, even scraps! Anything along those lines are always gratefully received.
I am in the process of making my first quilt for my daughter - it's time consuming, but I'm loving how it is looking and can't wait to complete something that I hope one day will be passed from generation to generation. I love all the help and tips that can be found on people's blogs - such a wealth of information!
I watch far too much TV! Other than the normal children's programme that I get to watch with my daughter (Peppa Pig, Dora the Explorere, Go Diego Do, and my all time favourite - Roary the Racing Car), I enjoy watching CSI (especially New York), Without a Trace, NCIS, Criminal Minds (spot a theme here??). I loved ER and was very sad to end the end of that. I also enjoy Friends - even if they are repeats of repeats! I have also just discovered Project Runway and am catching up on the past series on the Internet.
My all time favourite is Bon Jovi (hence the name of my blog) but I listen mostly to the radio either in the car or in my office at work, so I listen to and enjoy most stuff.
I love fabric and all things associated with sewing - buttons, thread, scraps. I love sewing patterns and quilting magazines or books.
I love all colours and don't really have a preference (although I do love red and aqua together!). My daughter though is a real girly girl and loves pink (bet you can't guess what colour the quilt I am making her is!)
For some odd reason, I also love selvedges. Whenever I start cutting a new piece of fabric, I carefully cut it off and add it to my little stash. I have no idea what I am going to do with them all yet, but for now, I am just happy collecting them!
I love postcards - such a great way to 'see' the world.
Please feel free to contact me if you would like a one on one FQ fabric swap!
