I'm a stay at home mom with a 22 month old daughter. Kaitlyn Joy (means "Pure Joy") is my miracle baby. After two years and seven months trying to conceive I did IVF with ICSI and eight months later (on Christmas Eve) I had a baby girl. I've now had two failed IVFs and one FET while trying to #2; we're done. We are currently stationed with the US Air Force in England where we have been for over four years now. We are leaving here in December for a five month stay in the US then off to Guam for a three year tour. Bring on the warm weather, beaches and sunny days.
I love most colors, but found myself turned off by some orange placemats I saw in a swap recently. Yuck! My favorite colors are: tea green (most any green for that matter), red, pink, purple, and blue. I have found myself drawn to yellow recently, but I really don't look good wearing it. I like the contrast of red, yellow, and black together.
My daughter is a girly girl all thanks to me. =) I dress her in ruffles and bows. Sewing has become my new passion. I have sewn my daughter several outfits and of course make matching hair bows to go with them. I've been trying to appliqué', but still have some work to do in that area. I'm always game to try a new craft, but I don't always master them. I taught myself to knit, but find crocheting to be much faster and more forgiving when a string is pulled or a needle removed.
• Chewy Sweettarts - in both the little balls and bigger disks.
• Handmade throw pillows in green, tan, and even red. Can one have to many? Maybe...
• Aprons! I'm wanting to give them as gifts this year to the ladies in my family.
• Reading Christian novels. Ebay is my friend. =)
• Nice dishtowels in sage green, plum and/or with daisies. Why after five years of marriage do I still have the cheap 5 for $5 ones from Walmart???
• Cotton Fabric.
• Handmade purses and totes.
• Big (4") hair bows on my daughter. I'm wanting to spell out her name (K-A-I-T-L-Y-N) in wooden letters on the wall with a 2-3' ribbon hanging from each to hang all her hair bows on.
• Handmade homey touches like coasters, floral wall hangings, simple paintings and so forth.
• Inexpensive necklaces and earrings. Yes, I’m cheap in this area. I would like to try making necklaces once we move back to the States.
• I like playing games on the Xbox, DS Lite, and online.
• Soaps! I almost forgot I love buying body wash from Bath And Body Works. However I'm not a lotion girl.
• Flowering plants, I love watching my hard work bloom and grow. When all else fails I can simply prove to the rest of my family that yes we can keep a plant alive.
• Bees, except live ones. =)
• Christmas ornaments and decor
• Gerber Daisies! I love their vibrant colors and how big the buds are.
• Petunias, because they grow like crazy and put on a great show. They got me nominated for “Yard of the Month”.
• Gardening ~ sometimes. Hehehe…
I'm sure there are several more random likes, but this is all I can think of right now.
When I find a book I like I usually start reading all the books by that author. Some of my favorite authors are: Francine Rivers, Beverly Lewis (what is it that draws me to Amish books??), and Karen Kingsbury. My mother-in-law got me into reading Janette Oke books; I would say 75% of the ones I have read were good.
Being a Texan I of course LOVE Mexican food. Seafood is okay unless it's shrimp then I will eat until I burst. I love brisket!!! I can eat my mom's brisket any day.
I have a sweet tooth that doesn't stop. I may be odd on this one, but I can't handle plain chocolate and dark chocolate is a big NO. However I really like white chocolate. I love chewy candy, not to be confused with "gummy" candy. I eat ice cream, but would pass it over for a good piece of cake with butter cream or cream cheese icing any day.
My daughter is my life so she deserves her own section. Kaitlyn is a typical girl who likes:
• Shoes (toddler 8s ~ my goodness her foot is big!) and lacy socks
• Purses – She will hook it on her arm and carry it all day. Anything with a strap becomes a purse, even buckets. =)
• Hair bows – She tries to put them on herself it’s really cute.
• Planes – she’s an Air Force kid.
• Teddy bears which honestly consists of anything fluffy and stuffed.
• Dogs, cats, birds
•Coloring and drawling
• Phones! Living overseas she has learned to talk to Nana on the phone and would love to do so every day.
• Little People – she has the house, mini van, bus, and plane.
• Baby dolls and doll clothes
• Plastic food and dishes – she spends most Sundays in the play kitchen area of the nursery.
• UK kiddy shows on Cbeebies– In The Night Garden, Big Cook Little Cook, The Shiny Show…
• Living Room ~ tan, sage green, and blue. Right now it kind of has a college room look because of all the random beat up furniture I married. Yes, I didn't marry it, but he sure won't let me throw it out. I swing from liking more modern items to country so what I didn't marry into is a mixture of those two.
• Kitchen ~ sage green and plum. Theme - yellow daisies and ivy.
• Master Bedroom ~ cream and blues of all shades.
• Daughter's room ~ Dark (not bright) colors in mostly - blue, burgundy, green, rusty yellow, and tan. Theme Noah's Ark/Bible stories.
• Bathroom ~ burgundy and honey with plumb accents.

Hi Jenark! I just noticed that you responded to my comment on the zipper pouch and candy swap! I'm too scared to cut zippers down!! I still consider myself a sewing novice but maybe one day I will try it! I do have a 22 inch zipper in my stash (what possessed me to buy it is beyond me! oh wait, I think it was on sale! LOL) I'm a SAHM too with a 19 month old daughter! Lisa
