HURRICANE HARVEY UPDATE: Almost everyone in Houston is underwater or has evacuated (they just called for evacuation in our neighborhood). Needless to say we won't be home to get the mail or rate swaps we receive. It may be a while before mail is even delivered.....
Say a prayer for us and forgive swap partners who live in Harvey's path. It's really bad and heartbreaking.
Time to update my profile, it's been years so here goes.... July/2017.
Hi my name is Kathy, I live in Houston, Texas.
Swap bot has really provided an opportunity to try new crafting techniques. I try to learn some new thing every week and find the how-to video's on YouTube very helpful. I have a few favorite channels I subscribe to and follow.
While I don't collect stamps, I absolutely love them. I never knew you could purchase collectable stamps at the post office for the same price as those dumb rolls I have been buying for years! Who knew?
When I mail a package internationally I try to use 2-3 stamps, and then ask the postal clerk to hand cancel them - and if necessary, purchase the additional postage needed to send. That way the recipient will have some cool stamps. I absolutely love the stamps that are coming from different countries!
I am not a flaker - guaranteed. I have stopped putting extra's in my ATC swap envelopes, because I think the ATC itself is enough of a present, I put a lot of work into them. For stuff the envelope swaps I put something extra special in each envie - in addition to the swap requirements, and hopefully it will be something from your profile wish list. And when I receive your swap - I rate immediately. Because that is important to me too.
Almost all my swaps are ready to complete by the time my "send to" person is assigned. They usually go out the following day. If I don't have something in my stash - I may have to go shopping to find something just perfect for you.

DISLIKE: Non-raters. It makes me sad when I work really hard on a swap project and the recipient doesn't immediately run to their computer one second after they have admired it to post a rating. LOL
DISLIKE: DOLLAR STORE JUNK - I don't like anything from the dollar store. The stickers and note cards are cheap. If you can't afford extra's in the envelope, a short hand written note would be just as nice!
What I do instead of shopping at the dollar store is shop sales at JoAnne's, Michaels and Hobby Lobbby. I bulk purchase stickers when they are 50% off at Hobby Lobby so I can send a brand new package of 2 sheets regularly 1.99 for a dollar. I would prefer one quality thing to an envelope of stuff you don't like and are passing on.
POCKET LETTER LIKES My favorite pocket letter colors and themes are Pink, Purple, White, Gold, Lace, Girly, Vintage, Butterflies, Cats, Puppies, Birds, Halloween, Christmas, Winter, snow, Fall, leaves, Summer, beaches and water, Spring, flowers, Prima Stamps, Vera Lane & other quirky digital art, Coffee, Tea, Cupcakes, Hearts, Angels
I LIKE STICKERS - my favorites seem to be flowers, butterflies, birds, tea, coffee, angels, birds, clocks, donuts, cupcakes, butterflies, butterflies, cats and dogs but whatever you send I will try to use!
I LIKE POSTCARDS - I have given up collecting state post cards. I prefer hand made or altered postcards so I will continue to sign up for many of those swaps. For a senders choice -- if you are looking here for my preferences I like flowers, beaches, artwork, photography, black and white, vintage postcards the best. But what ever you send I will enjoy!
Cool things to find in an "envie" cocktail napkins, washi tape, good quality note cards like Hallmark, naked post cards (old or new) any kind of stickers, humor, vintage photo's, collage, cool used stamps to craft with (noncollectable)
If you make a ATC, APC, inchie or "whatever" and take the time to send it to me, I will value it forever.
My PRIMARY dislike - rude people.
I work very hard to maintain my perfect 5.0 rating. If you do not receive a swap from me, it's been lost in the mail (it happens). Please message me and I will send another. Thank you in advance for your communication on swaps, and thank you for rating! 💖💖💖
Happy swapping to all my friends to come! 😊
