About Me

I'm 26, have three beloved cats, sixteen chickens, am pagan, collect virtually everything I can get my hands on, read lots, am a big geek... I'm heading back to college this fall to get a technology degree so I will be moving come August.

Favorite Music

Rock. Celtic. Alternative. Pop. New Age. Whatever. :)

Favorite Books

I read a lot (or did, before the knitting bug hit me... been reading much less now) and prefer books that aren't SAD. I don't really like to cry. I read a lot of romance (with plots, thankyouverymuch, none of that cheesy "Daddy Came Home" crap), supernatural, fantasy, dark fantasy, nonfiction, thrillers... I just don't like sad. Though I end up reading quite a few sad things anyway. I read a wide variety of stuff, really.

Favorite Television

I abhor TV, in general, but occasionally can be pressed into watching a show now and then at work when bored out of my skull - JAG, usually, or Law and Order: CI, or CSI... or something on A&E or the History Channel.

Favorite Crafts

Knitting, sewing, quilting, random crafting, baking & cooking, scrapping, soapmaking, needlework, gardening, penpalling, swapping.

Things I Don't Like

I hate coffee. Love the scent, hate hate HATE the taste. Espresso. Eww. Coffee. Eww. I don't like bath gel. I don't like neon colors or baby pastels, though I make exceptions for soft purples, blues, and greens. I don't like angels. I don't care for anything with bible verses or a similarly religious slant to it. I'm not a Christian is all! :) I don't like earl gray tea, or plain green tea. I don't care for Disney stuff or American cartoons, superheroes, etc.

Things I Love

I love tea (except earl gray or plain green). I love Asian things, and kawaii things. I love pagan things. :) I collect postcards (especially new in an envelope), stamps, coins, stationery, and notepaper. I love colorful envelopes. I love manga, yaoi, yarn, socks, japanese snacks, savory (as opposed to sweet) things, recipes, ephemera, maps, earthy colors, reds, purples, blues, greens, chickens, dragons, faeries, leafy plants, tarot, candles, bars of soap, and tiny treasures.

Postcards: I usually prefer single-view postcards (rather than multiple view ones) that are standard 4x6 size, or sometimes, 5x7. I don't like postcards that say things like: "Wish you were here!" and "Missing you in Florida!" or anything. I collect waterfalls, ocean scenes, beaches, rivers, wild animals, lighthouses, churches & mosques, castles, mountains & other scenic, city skylines, day or night, state/country maps, weather, flowers, naval ships, art cards, fairies (such as amy brown fairy postcards and similar), and any unique landmarks, events, etc.!

Wishlist

Some things I'd love to receive:

  • kawaii sticker sacks / stickers
  • kawaii stationery packs
  • lucky stars
  • fortune cookie fortunes
  • notecards (running low!)
  • amigirumi
  • felt food!
  • matchbox shrines/etc.
  • anything pagan related (but not goth.)
  • fancy (or not so fancy!) embroidery / needlework threaed
  • A6 envelopes (4.75 x 6.75 inches)
  • swap-cards
  • tarot/rune bag
  • brass embellishments
  • chime candles / chime candle holders
  • paper ephemera of all sorts, but especially Asian 'flavored'.
  • misc buttons for my button box
  • ribbons, rick-rack, etc.
  • dotee dolls! yes!
  • yo-yos (the sewing embellishments, not the toy)
  • whimsey jars
  • random stuff! I'm not picky!

Private Swaps

I would LOVE to set up a private swap with anyone who can get me some things I can't get here in this tiny town! Kawaii stationery packs, other kawaii things (notepads, letterpads, mini notepads, erasers, stickers, etc. etc. etc.), and japanese snack foods top the list right now! There is no shop here!

Things I can offer: cold hard cash (paypal?), whimsy jars, knitted items... hats, dishcloths, headbands, wristbands, mittens, other smallish items - sweaters and blankets are out, sorry! lol For an extra large swap, I could be persuaded into knit socks, but they are time consuming and expensive, besides. Sewn items (non-clothing) are possible. Purchased items from Montana - Huckleberry chocolates and other huckleberry candies?

If you've got ideas that fit somewhere within my interests and experience, let me know!

Notes

CONTACT ME if you do not receive a swap I was supposed to send you, please! While rare, things can and do get lost or delayed in the mail, and I'd like the chance to make things up to you if that happens! Please, communication is the most important thing in swapping!

Feel free to message me about any concerns you have - whether you're the one shipping to me, or you're the one being shipped to.

Comment: Thank you, thank you, thank you! There was the first nip of fall in the air today, and I got home to find your cozy new mittens on my doorstep. They fit perfectly and the colours go great with my jacket. I'll cuddle up with a mug of the tea as soon as I take the mittens off long enough to boil the water.
