About Me

Well, the first thing you need to know about me-- I'm terrible at filling out online profiles. I will now attempt to disprove that statement. Poorly.

I love to read. Some books I've loved: "Home Game" by Paul Quarington; "The Nameless Witch", A. Lee Martinex; "Good Omens", Gaiman and Pratchett; everything written by Lawrence Block and Raymond Chandler. Also, nonfiction. Lots of it.

Crafts: I'm into crochet, needlefelting, embroidery and papercrafts of all sorts.

Music: Indie Rock, Afro-Cuban Jazz, Pre-80's Soul, Blues (Delta most especially). Specifics: Cachao, Belle and Sebastian, Pascal, early Stones, Van Morrison, Cursive, Braid, Archers of Loaf, Aretha Franklin, Bessie Smith, Leadbelly, Bad Brains, Arcade Fire, Beastie Boys, Yo Yo Ma's Bach Cello Suites,

I am a fan of both irony and sarcasm.

I'm not crazy about pastel colors, leastwise not without some dark balancing them out. However, I am fond of the use of obscene amounts of pastel color, used sarcastically/ironically.

Comment: Thank Ella for Teddy. He was so excited to get the letter, book, stickers and cards. I'm hoping to get him to write a letter back to her some time next week. The rest of this week is a bit busy (his birthday is Sunday), but he is interested in writing her back. Thanks again!
Response: So glad Teddy liked his envelope, Ella worked very hard on it and had fun picking out the goodies to go with it. She would love a letter, and is hoping to find some good pen pals to practice writing with!

Comment: WOW!!!!! What a perfect package!!! :) Everything goes so perfectly in my kitchen! That recipe box is adorable, and I especially love the salt-and-pepper shakers... maybe you saw that I had similar ones on my etsy wishlist? A wish come true for me, thank you, Jordan!!! :) Oh, and I love how you used kanji pages for the packaging! I normally don't use this many exclamation points or smilies in one paragraph, but I'm just so excited! :) P.S. I hope your daughter is feeling better!

Comment: the rubber stamper in me was pumped when I got the pc-do you know which stamp companies these 3 are from (if you're like me with unmounted rubber, it gets dicey on the id). love the quote also-steinbeck is always a good choice-thanks much...
