My Etsy Store
hello! my name is jessica, or jessie, or jess. i'm from washington state, born and raised here. i've been married for 4.5 years and my husband proudly serves his country in the united states navy. and we have a son who was born on 11/23/05.
i do have an etsy shop typically filled with fun sewn goods! you are all welcome to check it out! it's a bit bare right now since it's holiday craft show time...my apologies!
i'm new to swap-bot and i'd like to say thank you to those who open their swaps up to newbies like me! :D
my favorite music is typically pop/top 40. i do, however, enjoy a lot of the music from the 90s (when i was growing up!).
fall out boy is my fave band, and has been for a while! i could listen to their music all day long!
my son is at the age where he can remember lyrics, so we sing a lot of songs together, mostly at nap time and bed time, though! he's very much into row, row, row your boat and pop goes the weasel right now! :D
i'm not an avid reader, like my husband, but i do really enjoy the plum novels from janet evanovich. i'm hoping to get an amazon kindle within the next few months, and i think that will give me the push i need to explore new readings!
favorite movies...where to begin?!
i really like comedies, and i'm not much into horror flicks, however, i do like a good action or thriller!
i like just about anything with jim carey, ben stiller, jack black (especially orange county and school of rock!), tom hanks and others like them! oh, and mike meyers and adam sandler are good, too!
i love the "classics" like dumb and dumber, tommy boy, funny farm, christmas vacation, a league of their own, turner and hooch.
i LOVE 007! any james bond is fine with me!
the harry potter series, x-men series, spider man series, indiana jones series, and star wars series are all good....oh the list goes on and on!
oh, television, too! where to start?!
we're lost junkies and cops junkies! we also watch prison break, ncis, fringe, the unit, ghost hunters, cold case, hell's kitchen/kitchen nightmares, two and a half men, mash.
i like survivor, numbers, amazing race, and a few others that i don't watch often.
we also have quite a few shows on dvd that we like to watch over and over....i love lucy, andy griffith show, lost, cheers.
oh, and thomas the tank engine is another one on dvd that we have LOTS of! that's what happens when you have a three year old little boy!! :D
i sew. that's what i do. i typically make stuff with amy butler fabrics since they are so stunning and in such high demand right now. i make eye pillows, sachets, and kids' boo-boo packs with organic lavender grown up the road from me. i also have eco-friendly bags in my shop made out of upcycled tees.
i have an etsy shop that you can find the link for above. it's pretty bare right now due to holiday craft fair time, but i've got a TON of stuff that will be added here soon, if it doesn't sell at a craft show! there's so much more i have waiting to be listed, but you'll just have to wait to see it! ;D
i'm game to try new crafts, but there's a LOT that i've never tried. and when you don't do certain crafts regularly, it can get very expensive, very quickly, to get everything you need to start from scratch! plus i'd hate to waste all the money on something to find out i'm no good at it! ;D
also, i'm currently in the market for my first embroidery machine and will be making a purchase within the next 2-3 months! i'm very excited about this new journey and can't wait until i can get my feet wet!!
i'd love to get anything related to sewing:
-fabric: fat quarters, scraps, remnants, any piece 2x2 or larger. -sewing machine needles -thread of ANY color...even white! -felt -cotton webbing -zippers -snaps -bias tape/binding (handmade or store bought) -hand quilting needles -ric rak in any size or color -thimbles -patterns -rotary cutter blades 45mm -any other type of notions
other stuff i like: -anything military if it's just general stuff, or branch specific items that are navy oriented. -glitter glue -pinup stuff -anything fun to make atc's with -wooden knitting needles -craft magazines -diy kits -fun pens -scenic pictures...even photos you've taken -blank postcards (either back OR front!) -blank cards (either inside OR outside!) -stamps and/or ink pads -die cuts (like for scrapbooking) -metal eyelets in any color
my three year old son, owen, also LOVES getting mail. he's obsessed with thomas the tank engine, and we love to read books and play learning games together! any stickers or extras for owen will surely win you bonus points!!
i don't want to say there's something i don't wish to recieve. anything is fine with me...not just stuff i've listed here. i can always find a use for something!
