I am a SAHM with a wonderful husband and 2 children at home. [We actually have 6 total!]
I enjoy all sorts of crafts and I love to make soaps, lotions, scrubs, bath salts and such.
I also LOVE to sew and quilt. I have a basic crochet stitch down to a science and now have to learn knitting next. I love all the things I have made since last year crocheting it is so soothing.
We live pretty simply - we cook from scratch [except pie crusts -which I have received so many hints and tips from you SBers, thanks!] and try to keep frugal. It is fun and we have never lacked for anything.
Our home also includes our dachshund, Spot and a new addition in April of our Chessie - his name is Scooby. :)
I like all music. From Vivaldi to Rock and Roll to Country. My ipod is even filled half full with Disney tunes and my youngest is now 12. Go figure!
I enjoy biographies, autobiographies, history, murder mystery [not too gory though and nothing involving the death of a child] true crime and humor.
I don't watch a lot of present movies and we never pay the $11 to see a current run. I like older movies I guess. Hitchcock, Christmas themed, the original movie "The Women" -b&w genre such as that. However I [somehow] don't like "Casablanca" or "The Maltese Falcon". Who knew?
I watch, perhaps, 4 shows a day. "Good Morning America", "The Ellen Degeneres Show", "Wheel of Fortune" and "ABC Nightly News with Charles Gibson". We have cable!!!! But I don't watch it! LOL I am not against TV, I promise. My family loves it. I just don't find a lot to watch :D
Sewing, quilting, crocheting, soap making, candle making, cooking, baking [but no pie crusts, sigh].
ATCs are a passion, as are whimsey jars, inchies and handmade postcards. I love to make, send and receive them.
I also cartoon and love to decorate anything that comes near my huge set of Sharpie markers.
I know this sounds weird but I don't like chocolate candy [cookies and cocoa are fine] and I really don't care for anything that is purple. Purple was my mom's favorite color and for some reason she thought I should have everything purple. I even had a purple BLOWDRYER. Yes, they made those...lol...and now that I am old enough she still thinks it is funny to send me purple/lavender stuff. If you are wondering why my icon is a purple ribbon - well that is someone's idea of a joke. Heehee - I have Lupus and the ribbon is the symbol for the fight against the disease. So, yeah - a purple ribbon :)
My biggest dislike is liars. Just PLEASE tell the truth. I won't be mad or disappointed - just let me know what is going on. I understand. I do. It isn't a problem. I am not with the swap-bot mafia and I am not going to say bad things - just let me know. It is the way I live my life and I appreciate when people are honest, okay? No worries :)
Hello! My mom is letting me type about me. So I want you all to know that I absolutly LOVE sharks! I especially like great white sharks. Lately I have been reading vampire books. I am currently reading Vampire Diaries. I love it a lot! My favorite colors are lime-green and blue. I love the actors Vince Vaughn, Chris Brown and singer Freddie Mercury [of Queen], . I am 12 years old and my last fact is that I love the movie Without A Paddle. I hope you have a very happy new year! ~ Hello Swap-botties, this is the Eldest daughter, Squirrel. I am 17 years old :) I enjoy reading and science in school. I love playing my flute and anything Sanrio (esp. Tenorikuma!). Coffee is my savior every morning (and thus my Mom's, too, if you've heard the stories). My favorite holiday is a tie between Thanksgiving and Valentines Day. Have a wonderful day. Carpe Diem!
I rate upon opening a package, no questions. It will always be that way as that is what works best for me. If I can't rate the minute I open a package I will wait to open. So you will get a rating, promise!
If you did not get a rating it is because I am in a quandry about what to rate. Either I have not received your swap or your swap did not meet the criteria and I am trying to decide what to do.
I HATE rating ones but will do so if you don't send or don't communicate. I always give the option to rerate if I receive something after giving a one.

The postman just brought me an envie of stickers from you with a super cute card, what a lovely suprise! Thank you so much! Becky :-) x
Just wanted to stop by to wish you a very Merry Christmas! :)
Thank you for your sweet message. I'm surviving, but it's been a long year. I hope you are doing well yourself :)
Hullo from Judith!
I also cook from scratch (grew up doing it for ten people on a wood stove, actually, in Northern Ontario) and it's almost a necessity here as Korean grocery stores don't have a fiftieth of the processed and premade products that any North American supermarket does. (Just as an example, we have TWO brands of salad dressing readily available, with three or four kinds in each, and there are usually ten or eleven bottles TOTAL in the salads section... compared to your full aisle of dressings in NA!)
I homeschool, believe in simple living (though I make a bit of an exception for craft supplies, I do recycle and reuse and repurpose rather than buying expensive items. 'Scrapbooking' used to be about 'scraps', remember?), buy green, camp, clean with vinegar and baking soda, and read voraciously.
And I also adore handmade postcards - I have a shabby-chic/bohemian/collage style that people seem to enjoy - so would you like to do a PC swap after Christmas? Let's be friends! :)
@SkippyMon - may I just say thank you for the wonderful surprise that I received yesterday. Thank you for the November wish ... it is a lovely collection of ribbons and I was so inspired that I made an ATC with one length that evening. I took the ribbons into work today so that I could have a good look at them in daylight (my only daylight bulb having blown earlier in the week) and think about what I will make with them. Thank you also for the pretty card and the little zip-lock bag (I can never find this size in the UK) - both of which will find themselves recycled.
Thank you so much for the book you sent me (for the CPS wishlist) - it looks great!
Thank you for the penpal RAK. I owe ya some recipes. ;) Did you receive my PC? hmmm, hope it didn't get lost. Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Thanks again, Skippy!
Wow another awesome package from you. I just love everything you sent for the WTA #24 random envie. What a fun assortment of goodies! Very random and very appreciated. Can't wait to use everything. These birthday candles are awesome! Never seen such a thing! Awwe, gingerbread man is adorable. Love it all. hugs, Sue
Thank you for the great recipe cards sent for Nov w/list GPG. I just can't get them here.
Thank you for the great sheet of labels that you sent for my wishlist on the Cheap Postage group. They'll be great for reusing the smaller envelopes to put the receiver's address!
