About me

I'm Annemari and I live in Helsinki, in the capital city of Finland. I study Finnish and Balto-Finnic linguistics in the university and I'm specializing in onomastics.

Crafting is the hobby I enjoy the most, but I also like jogging, traveling, photographing and studying foreign languages. I'm also interested in prehistory, archaeology and interior design. I don't have any pets at the moment, but I love dogs, especially Airedale terriers (I have had them as a part of my family for the most of my life ♥).

.

Crafts

I love to do crafts and sewing is what I like the most. I'm addicted to cute Japanese fabric. I can't help myself buying more and more of it. I like to mix it with linen, gingham or polka dot fabric when I sew things. Those are all my favorite kinds of fabric. You can see my crafts in my Flickr page if you'd like to take a look.

I also like to carve stamps from my own designs or from designs from Japanese stamp carving books.

Crocheting and knitting are fun, too. I think I'm better at crocheting though.

I also love ceramics, but I haven't been able to work with clay for a long time since I don't have an access to a kiln.

Crafting with nature materials is something I like but haven't been able to do for a while either. Forest used to be my craft store when I still lived in my childhood home at the countryside.

.

Themes And Colors I Like

Mushrooms, maps, owls, buntings, polka dots, matryoshkas, leaves, birds, buttons, gnomes, kraft paper, red+blue airmail pattern, linen, trees, strawberries, things with houses on them, folklore ornament patterns, dala horses, typewriters.

When it comes to clothes my favorite colors are black and grey and with interior decorating I prefer white, but otherwise red and mustard yellow are ok, too.

.

Swaps

Please contact me if you have not received my package within a reasonable time so we can sort it out. I'm sending from Finland so please note that it normally takes a few weeks for the package to reach the other side of the globe.

I reuse packaging!

Edibles & Drinks I Would Love To Get

  • I'm not allergic to any foods, but I've been trying to avoid eating anything with wheat, potato, rice and too much sugar for almost a year now, because that way my inflammatory bowel disease doesn't bother me or my life.
  • However, if you send me a chocolate bar that has sugar and wheat in it, it won't kill me. I will eat it and enjoy it, because if I eat something like that so rarely as once in a month, it doesn't cause problems.
  • I really have enjoyed swapping different edibles here in the past, so I have now decided to occasionally take part in food swaps again, even though my diet is now different from what it used to be.
    .

Tea

  • I love to drink tea! It's so much fun to get to taste all kinds of different teas and to find new favorites.
  • I love fruity teas the most, but I do like all kinds of teas.

  • ♥ Some of my favorite teas that I can't get from Finland: Celestial Seasonings Sleepytime Vanilla tea, Stash teas, Bigelow teas

Chocolate

  • I like basically all kinds of chocolates: white, milk and dark, but I prefer to eat dark chocolate.
  • I like when chocolate has some special flavour or fillings. I especially love chocolate with peanut butter, nuts or sea salt!

  • I don't like chocolate with coconut or liqueur in it

  • Please don't send me chili pepper chocolate because I just can't eat it, chili is too hot for me even in small amounts.

  • ♥ Some of my favorite chocolates that I can't get from Finland: everything from Reese's, Oh Henry!, Milka chocolates

Other

  • I like beef jerky, dried fruits & berries, nuts, seeds, licorice, fudge and hot chocolate.
  • All kinds of low carb edibles are very welcome!
    .

Non-edible Things I Would Love To Get

  • Anything related to my "Themes I Like" list
  • Anything with Krtek (The Mole) character
  • Sewing buttons
  • Cute Japanese fabric and trim
  • Other cotton/linen fabric (polka dots, gingham, 1930's reproduction)
  • Sewing ribbons, trims and laces
  • Japanese craft magazines/books
  • Rubber stamp inks
  • Stamp carving blocks
  • Blank brown kraft paper gift bags or cute Japanese paper gift bags
  • Safety craft eyes
  • Pens with black ink and thin tip
  • Freezer paper for making stencils (you can't get that over here)
  • Shredding scissors
  • Vintage map pages
  • Small yo-yo maker
  • Plastic bobbins for Pfaff sewing machine
  • Anything else you think I'd love to receive!
    .

Things I Would Not Like To Get

Bath & body products, cosmetics, scents, Disney, Hello Kitty, ATC's, plastic beads, stickers, eyelets, brads, scrapbooking supplies, candles, gift wrapping ribbons, jewellery (I'm so picky and I'm allergic to nickel), freebie/commercial items, samples, dollar store items, glittery things, magnets.

Anything that tastes or smells like coconut. Anything with chili as it's just too hot for me and my stomach doesn't like it either.

I'm atheist so please don't send me religious items. I don't decorate for any holidays, so please no Santa Claus, Easter Bunnies, Halloween etc. items or decorations.

Comment: Oh, you deserve a hundred hearts for the wonderfully generous package. What a surprise to receive SUCH a big bar of chocolate. I shared some with the children right away, and the gingerbread bits are wonderful. You took such care in wrapping the package and making a beautiful presentation. Thank you for turning a simple swap into a special gift! :-)
