I recently got married and live in MN with my husband Eric and my two dogs, with frequent visits from my three and a half year old stepdaughter, Bella. I work a menial job but enjoy it to a point as I get to do a variety of things, including marketing, which maybe someday I'll go back to school for. (I already graduated college with a creative writing degree, although sadly I haven't done much with it.) In my free time I love hanging out with my husband, going out with friends, playing volleyball, ghost hunting, organizing stuph (I am a closet neat freak, I love things in order, but mostly organizing other people's stuph - it's easier, I swear) and drinking beer --- PS I LOVE beer!!!! As far as artistic stuph is concered, I've always been into doing art projects but started seriously painting with acrylics in college, and once I graduated moved onto to using various found objects in my art. I LOVE bottlecaps - I've done a number of paintings incorporating them, although nothing very recent. So now this borders on obsession, trying to find new things to use on a canvas, and am not afraid to try anything new! I've specialized in abstract and children's art, but more recently my best friend has gotten me into ATC making, and I completely love and welcome the challenge (my husband calls them "appetizer art" haha) and have to admit I'm addicted already. I've got a studio in my basement that I swear there is a time-warp somewhere down there cuz evenings spent in the midst of creativity seem to fly by way too quickly...
Satire. Comedy. Tim Burton. Alice in Wonderland. (And how awesome is it that Tim Burton is DOING Alice in Wonderland? Couldn't pick a better combination!) Garden State. Muppet Treasure Island (OK all Muppet movies...) Dark humor. Disney movies. Anything with Jennifer Aniston (even the bad movies, I can't help myself!). Anything about REAL ghost/alien/paranormal stories, but NOT gory horror movies, I'm a wimp when it comes to those....
Do I have to pick one??? Acrylics, Oils, Pastels, Crayons, Chalk, Markers, Glitter, Ephemera, Stickers, Fabric, Embossing powders, Doodling with whatever is lying around, Glue, Cardboard, Stencils, Pencils (haha that rhymes), Stamping, Clay, Lace, Ribbon, Glass, Vintage Game Pieces, Googly Eyes, my most recent obsession is finding metal charms/embellishments ooh I love those on ATCs n stuph ...
My pug Dali is awesome! (OK admittedly I have TWO pugs - Dali and Georgia, but Dali is my furbaby - he's such a mama's boy - unfortunately Georgia is Mama's Little Rash Decision - love her dearly, but maybe since she's 1/4 pomerian and she's very yippy always barking at the television or ... nothing ... she kind of stacks the cards against her ...)
I'm always looking for more pug "things" to use in ATCs and collage projects!!!
Butterflies, Coca-cola stuph, flowers, abstract art, Salvador Dali, time pieces, pugs, vintage images and advertisements, swirlies, purple, and anything that could be used as a new idea for texture on paper and canvas projects ... I always love stickers and ephemera (vintage or other), and of course my ridiculous obsession with metal charms - I've started a collection that may rival anyone else's... Does anyone have scrabble pieces they aren't using? I've tried a million times to buy some on Ebay but refuse to pay too much for these things ... I totally want some!!! (Especially the letters "A" "R" and "T" haha) But no buttons or anything too bulky that wouldn't work on an ATC, and no fibers or anything - I'm not against them persay, I just haven't expanded my horizons enough to figure out how to use them (if you can coach me I will accept!! haha)
I will ALWAYS try to go above and beyond the minimum requirements - that's just who I am!! I will also ALWAYS give gives AND hearts as long as my partner didn't totally flake on me or send me something awful - I promise!! I'm totally addicting to Swap-bot already!! whoohooo!!!!! :)
