Hi! My name is Cerra, I'm Clive's mama and I've been collecting postcards for him (via postcrossing.com) since mid-2008. He was born in September 2008 and it's been nice to watch his collection grow. He's even starting to enjoy looking at them and always helps me check the mail.
We have two cats and we live slightly away from downtown Halifax.
On September 26, 2009 I married Clive's dad in a surprise ceremony at our home, hijacking Clive's first birthday party.
I didn't plan to participate in any non-postcard swaps, however, money has become very tight and I am now participating in electronic based swaps almost exclusively.
Clive likes to read board books and books that make noise. Right now, I'm trying to read The Chronicles of Narnia to him while he goes down for naps. Unfortunately, he usually prefers quiet to fall and stay asleep.
Clive dances to all music, including the bad singing his parents subject him to. He especially likes Matthew Good, System of a Down, Sarah Harmer, Tool, A Perfect Circle, The Barenaked Ladies and Ray Lamontagne.
We're not fussy on what we'd like to receive. Cards sized 4x6 and outside of an envelope are best, though as they fit nicely in a photo album.
If you'd like to send something along with your card please contact me!
I was told a few years ago that I had done too much damage to my body through drug/alcohol abuse and disordered eating to become pregnant and carry a baby to term. I explained the situation to Clive's dad and we decided to try anyway. Within a month Clive was conceived. All babies are miracles and Clive was a very unexpected one. He brings me joy that is incomparable to anything I've ever known.
We're raising Clive as an organic vegetarian. He hates meat and I was a vegetarian for a long time, so this gives me an excuse to get back to it and seems natural.
We practice elimination communication and carry him as much as he lets us. He naps in my arms and sleeps beside me at night. I'm still breastfeeding and will let Clive make the decision to stop on his own.
We lean toward wooden toys and organic clothing when we can.
I guess you could say we're new age hippies.
We are Christian and attend church whenever possible. Our church is 20km away and we don't own a car, so sometimes it's a month between visits.
