I'm a curly-haired, sarcastic native New Yorker. I teach English Language Arts to 7th Graders in Brooklyn.

I'm married and we have two dogs. Cole and Wilbur are bullie mixes that we adopted from a local rescue.

I'm an avid writer and reader. I love art, music, movies, TV, talking, travel and generally being creative.

Crafts and Colors: Anything purple, most earth tones (green, brown, blue), stripes, polka dots. Gel pens, translucent, textured and dimensional stickers, decoupage, embroidering, beading, postcards, buttons.

Foods and Flavors Chocolate, sushi, Thai food, teas (especially fruit flavored green tea and Stash's Lemon and Ginger), sour flavors, berry flavors, coffee.

Scents and Smells: I have issues with anything very floral, like lilies and such, due to allergies. I love earthy, fall smells and light fruity smells such as coffee, pumpkin, cranberry, ginger, tea, pomegranate, apple, cucumber melon, vanilla and others. I wear DKNY's "Be Delicious" (the green apple) daily. I also used to wear Bath and Body works White Tea Ginger.

Other abstract loves: my iPhone, England and in particular London, Ireland, roadtrips, fun makeup, lip gloss, Donna Noble's wardrobe, musicals, slash, science fiction, sleeping, bubble bath, cooking.

Anything floral smelling or heavily scented, due to allergies. Bath products that are non-hypoallergenic, again due to allergies. Things that involve 800 steps to put together - I like putting things together and doing things myself, but don't have a lot of free time. Anything tacky or done half-heartedly, especially anything that is just basically a sticker on a page.

I love poetry, especially Marie Howe, Sharon Olds, e.e. cummings, Lucille Clifton.

Favorite books include The Handmaid's Tale (Margaret Atwood), The Blind Assassin (Margaret Atwood), In Her Shoes (Jennifer Weiner), The Stand (Stephen King), Pride and Prejudice (Jane Austen), Tales of the City (Armisted Maupin), Kitchen Confidential (Anthony Bourdain).

I really enjoy Stephenie Meyer's Twilight saga. My favorite book of them is New Moon.

I also love books by Jennifer Lancaster, Meg Cabot, Helen Fielding and others.

My job requires I be up to date on Young Adult literature so I'm often reading those as well.
