I have lots of interests and some of them are almost at odds with each other. Makes for an interesting life. My longer life paths have been in education, sales and writing. I have a varied career path, but am at present working with autistic adults.

I live with my husband of 7 years and our 3 girls, our beloved dogs Sammy, Sissy and Sunny. They are all rescued dogs. I spend a lot of time on the computer, mostly playing online Scrabble and other fun word games on Facebook. I also love sudoku. I have a lifelong goal of writing a book...but haven't done so yet. I need to make this happen.

Creative outlets are lacking in my life right now, hence my joy at finding Swap-Bot. I love color and design, and if I were to collect art, it would be a hodgepodge. I'd have Wyeth and Miro, Dali and Matisse, Warhol and at least one or more of the darker Dutch painters...all in the same space.

BOOKS, now there's a favorite subject. There are bookshelves all over my house. Everywhere you look, books. They are piled neatly, mostly, 2 stacks deep and all the way to the top. My list of favorites will be short, because other wise it would be too long: To Kill A Mockingbird, Prayer For Owen Meany, Lovely Bones, Alice in Wonderland, The Secret Life of Bees.

I love to see MOVIES, altho I rarely see them when they first come out. I have many favorites: I watch Love Actually at least 3 times a year and always at Christmas, While you Were Sleeping and Notting Hill and Pretty Woman 2 times a year; I am a sucker for happy endings. I like anything starring Sandra Bullock, Julia Roberts, Audrey Hepburn, Kevin Kline. Favorite movie of all time is possibly Love Actually...no, maybe it's Breakfast at Tiffany's or To Kill A Mockingbird or Fried Green Tomatoes...I give up!

We do watch more TV than I'd like, but usually while doing other things. We do Netflix and watch a lot of PBS so not that much "regular" TV. Love those morning news shows, prefer Good Morning America. Love the Sunday morning news show, particularly George Steph? Jeopardy is a favorite TV show. Am enthralled with Boston Legal. Love many PBS features, foremost of which is Antiques Road Show and their many Britcoms, like As Time Goes By.

FAVORITE CRAFTS: I like to make all kinds of things. My husband and I make really cool things out of pinecones, like lamp finials and fan pulls. I've also used bits of pinecones to make earrings and Christmas ornaments. I love the idea of making things from outdoor natural materials, like sweet gum balls, moss, nut shells and pinecone petals. But I also like glitzy colorful things and enjoy almost all mediums: paint, magic marker, pencil. Stickers and fabrics of all types are fun, as are the different materials and things used in scrap-booking.

I like to make cards from scratch and I love all sorts of paper. In fact, I have boxes of it, much of it samples from paper companies that I collected when I was in paper sales! PAPER IS ME!

My favorite color is yellow, although I use a lot of earth tones when creating, especially since many of the things I make, like wreathes or nut people, are made from fruits of nature. I also like to make things using paper, buttons, dried flower petals and fabric and any kind of whimsical doodad.

Lastly, I like things that are fun and funny, especially when combined with female images or ideas. I really like girlfriend sorts of things, female humor and softcore feminist things. No man hating, just women loving.
