I HAVE STARTED LISTING FLAKERS - AT THE BOTTOM OF MY PROFILE PAGE.
A great-grandmother of one, grandmother of four, mother of four, wife to one for 49 years on Feb. 16. Mama to two cats. Native Kentuckian now living in Texas.
We love antiquing and yard saleing.
Reds, Blues, and Greens and all colors in the rainbow. However, I am presently into greens. Also, really love whatever color my granddaughter's hair is when she comes to visit. First, it was hot pink , then, it was purple, next came teal .Next was fuscia and navy. This year, she was back to blond but will be green and blue striped for school. LOL Never a dull moment.
Country. Oldies. And anything the Statlers sing: the newspaper, phone book, dictionary, doesn't matter. Have you heard them sing the New and Old Testaments? Best sermon I have ever heard.
I also love Tennessee Ernie Ford, Elvis, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Shinia Twain, Anne Murray, the Everly Brothers. and Keith Whitley. BTW - Keith is from my hometown. I could go on and on....
I love to collect: buttons (glass, plastics from the 40s and 50s, realistics, and rubber are some of my favorites,) any vintage sewing notions, thimbles (not glass), salt and pepper shakers (my oldest collection), Annalees, Furbys, and miniatures. My hubby is building my third dollhouse. Any additions for it would just be the best swap ever.
Tried and True Recipes / Family Recipes - cookbooks, Handmade anything - Unique thimbles - ATCs. and MORE buttons. Dotee dolls and art dolls are my latest fascinations.
I love collaged items and I love to upcycle. Altered anything makes my day. Any tidbits for this purpose are always a treat.
German scrap, lovely lady images, or any holiday images would all be appreceiated. Tidbits and tinies suitable for ATCs and smaller art would just put me over the moon.
Cheap Stuff, I don't mean inexpensive, I mean poorly made, coming apart, tacky stuff that you wouldn't use for a quality project.
I love vintage, aged, items. Not dirty (please don't send it to me just to keep from throwing it away). Nothing smelly, I'm not allergic, but I just find it rude.
I have just discovered 'zines and/or mini-zines., and while I am still a novice at making them, I would love to receive more if you care to share. I haven't seen an FB, but I am curious and would love to receive one of those.
Now - favorite crafts - I love collage - I have covered picture frames with old costume jewelry, I have a stash of wine corks, shotgun shells, rusted stuff for wiring or nailing to old barnwood that we pulled from a 100 yr-old- barn. I sew, crochet, love all the paper crafts that I have tried, taught weekly craft classes at Walmart for the better part of five years. Every new craft that came in, I learned if necessary and taught to my ladies.
I love to repurpose - why use something for what it was meant for - make a face out of a bone button, use men's ties for just about anything, make "people" from game pieces (is that an art doll?). Just look at stuff until you figure out something else to do with it.
I'm just discovering the little packets of dry mixes to put in bottled water - they are wonderful. Jelly Belly jelly beans are awesome. Any yummies from other countries are a treat beyond words. Of course, if any items come my way that I really don't care for (ha ha), I will gladly share with the family.
I must note here that I am not a tea drinker. Please refrain from sending tea unless I have joined a tea specific swap.
Please, NO candles. If they are left in the mailbox or on the porch - in this Texas heat - they melt.
Many thanks for your consideration.
FLAKERS - I promised to list these people but I hate doing it so much that I just kept putting it off. It needs to be done. They need to be exposed. So the oldest I will list is from 2008.
@GROUP September 3M Journal Swap Partner: Pyxidragon To be angelled by RainyC - not yet rec'd 4-14-13

@Wreck this Journal Swap partner: Rebecca Zweber (pawprintsandfreckles)

There are a lot more. These are the latest from the larger swaps. There are a lot of ATC flakers, too. What a shame.

Congratulations! You have won the RAK in our Amazing Mail ART group. Just send me your address and I'll get your surprise out to you. Thanks so much.
I do really want to trade with you; you seem like an awesome lady, but I am new, so that does some people off, so hello!
I am so happy that you liked your package. I printed your profile "likes" and carried it with me everywhere I went. I was determined to make a package that you would love because you deserved it. My friends all laughed when they found out I wrote a 4 page letter to you because they said you would never be able to read my handwriting. Again, thank you so much for being such a wonderful person, I am very blessd that our paths crossed and hope to meet up in another swap. Lots of hugs to you

Hi, I was just reading over the Mega Christmas Card swap and saw a comment from you. It's been a while since we've connected although I think of you often. I hope all is well with you and your family and that you are still enjoying your little book. By the way, what color is your granddaughter's hair now. Sounds like my daughter who came to visit me today with bright red hair! Have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy Ne Year.
Thanks so much Joan for the fabulous journal you made for my angel swap. I really appreciate it. I can't believe its taken a couple of years for someone to offer to take on the project. I LOVED your cook book. Can't wait to get cooking. xoxo
