About Me

2018 has begun so I think it is time to update this. Not much has changed. I have so enjoyed meeting such lovely people here on Swap Bot.

Please make sure you put the name of the swap on your mail. I usually have several swaps going on and I need to be able to find you to rate you. Thanks!

I am a retired Baby Boomer. Online, I belong to Goodreads, Postcrossing a few quilting forums and lots of groups here on Swap-Bot. I grew up in the state of Maine but have lived in California most of my life. I love the winters here! My husband and I have been happily married for more than 40 years. We have two grown sons whom we see often.

We enjoy traveling whenever we can. Our house has a lot of fishy decor because my husband loves to fish for trout. We are a pet free, smoke free household. We do and have loved pets, but not these days.

Favorite Crafts

Quilting is my main passion. I also love knitting. I enjoy making quilts for family and local charities.

Photography is another long time passion. I enjoy making postcards with my photos.

I also am an avid reader. Nowadays I use only my mini iPad to read books on Nook and Kindle. I know that many people prefer the paper format but I have cleared out most of my books. I am into simplifying my life.

Favorite Books

I belong to a book group and we read general fiction.. Authors I love are Maeve Binchy, Michael Connelly, Harlan Coben. Robert Crais, Linwood Barkley, Barbara Kingsolver, Jennifer Chiaverini and Louise Penny. I belong to Goodreads online so if you also belong, please friend me there. .I have the same user name.

Favorite Television

We are watching morning talk shows, NCIS, Scorpion, House Hunters, Jeopardy,Maine Cabin Masters and we record quilting and knitting shows for later watching. Love my DVR!

Favorite Movies

Romantic comedies are at the top of the list but I find mysteries intriguing. My all time favorite movies are 50 First Dates. When Harry Met Sally, Gravity, The Help and Hidden Figures..

Favorite Postcards

I usually do postcard swaps. I love to get mail that isn't junk or bills. So if you have available the following, I would appreciate them. Otherwise, any postcard is welcome. -MAP cards of other countries -TREES - water scenes - fish (for hubby) - local landmarks or scenery - National Parks - UNESCO World Heritage sites - animals - flowers

Likes in general

Thank you to all of you who helped me with my state map collection. You are the best!

AND: -Batik fabric -Dark chocolate, -Coffee, -fat quarters, -mints, - note pads -stickers

Favorite Music

Classic Rock and Contemporary music with a wide range of artists please my ears.

I do not sign up for a swap unless I know I can do it and on time. If you do not receive something from me, send a message letting me know before you rate. I promise to do the same.

Comment: Judee, thank you for the postcard.. I love to read, I took a course in speed reading in college, so I am able to read a book quite.quickly. I see you like your Kindle, It is too slow in turning the pages. I guess I am one of the diehard readers. Have you ever heard of Nicholas Sparks? He is local author/director. I really like hs books along with Judith Fluke and her bakery murder mysteries. I buy the whole series at once and then I can keep reading and not have to wait for the next book. It is very reasonable and free shipping. thriftbooks.com Shirley flukekae Shirley

Comment: Thanks for the great "I" postcard.
Comment: Thanks so much for the great map card, Judee! Sadly, it came out worse for wear after a battle with the mail sorting machine, but eventually made its way to me after an apologetic postal worker tried to patch it up with some tape. I was still able to appreciate it! Happy swapping xox

Comment: HI Judee! I love the Sonora Pass PC you sent. It looks beautiful! I have been from Sacramento to Reno... did I go through these mountains? I don't think I made it to 8,000 ft, so probably not ;-( I have been to 8,000 ft in Colorado, where my brother had a cabin years ago. Thanks for the PC.. Now I want to take a trip to the Sonora Pass this summer! :-) Have fun next time you are there.

Judy, it's been fun to swap with you in the past in quilting swaps. I fully understand your love of batiks, some are among those lovelies it's hard to cut up. Although we read somewhat different books, I think there's something in the brain that makes quilting and reading compatible, i don't know what it is. If you have an inkling I'd love to know it. I hope you're enjoying the OFAP group; this is half the Profile swap, a card will be in the mail later today.

Profile Perusal Post & PC swap from OFAP. Hi Judee, Although I am not a quilter, I love batik fabrics too and created a lovely scarf with blanket stitch edging for myself. Your quilts must really be lovely with that choice of fabric. I see that you enjoy postcards of states and it sounds like a terrific collection. It is always fun to read and see what other OFAPS are up to. I will be mailing out the pc today. Enjoy, jan
