I live in the state of West Virginia which is a whole different state than Virginia! For some reason many people don't realize this and it makes me shake my head! I spent most of my life in Michigan (44 years!) so I often travel through Ohio to visit family and friends back home. I am married with two teenage kids - and love two fun rescue dogs, Chip and Molly.
I am here to swap postcards! I like both written and unwritten postcards.
I am not a fan of the smaller vintage type postcards so please save them for someone who collects them.
Postcard ideas are gardens, stamps, puzzles, math, numbers, science, art, books, waterfalls, beach fun, MBL stadiums, scenic views, tourist oddities, world leaders/iconic people, U.S. history, quirky, sports - especially baseball and hockey, celebs (if arty, tasteful or interesting), coffee, cocktails, cows, barns, and anything yarn related.
I am really getting into non touristy cards but I like both.
Don't know what to write? I love quotes, book recommendations, what was the last movie you saw or what you had for breakfast! How would you spend an ideal day? What one person (dead of alive) would you like to have lunch with?
TV - This is Us, The Big Bang Theory, Life in Pieces, Frankie & Grace, Parenthood, Mom, Downton Abbey, Gilmore Girls, The West Wing (all time fav!). Watched Game of Thrones, it was okay, not a huge fan. Too violent and gory for me.
BOOKS - really like historical fiction and some biographies, behind the scene stuff too.
Favorites - The Rosie Project, Wishful Drinking, We are Liars, Drowning Ruth, Angry Housewives Eating Bon Bons, My Mom was Nuts (author Penny Marshal), Broke Back Horses, Unbroken, and Ordinary Grace.
Not into fantasy or science fiction. I do like to mix in a good thriller now and then, Harlen Coben and Steve Hamilton being my fav authors.
Movies - The Heat, Bridesmaids, A League of their Own, The Lake House, The Hunt for Red October, It's Complicated, Spy, Hidden Figures
Celeb - Melissa McCarthy, Bradley Cooper
Music - '80's pop, 90's country, current top 40
Cats, Sci fi (except Star Wars), fairies, vampires, goth, fantasy, super heroes, kawaii, violence, tattoos, religious themes.
I have done many crafts in my day -scrapbooking, crochet, beading, card stamping, rag wreaths and others. I have so many supplies that I could open my own store and yet there is always something more I need for my latest project. The last item I made was a pillow out of a Breaking Bad t-shirt for my son for his dorm.
I look forward to swapping and please feel free to contact me with any questions or issues. Communication is an easy way to resolve confusion or let someone know concerns and give positive feedback. I welcome contact with you all.
